Memorial ceremony at Okrešelj

On the 12th anniversary of the tragic accident, a memorial ceremony took place today at Okrešelj organized by the police. On June 10, 1997, during the helicopter exercise of rescue pilots and medical pilots, 5 mountain rescuers tragically passed away. That the memory of them will never fade was testified by today's large attendance at the ceremony.

I also attended the memorial ceremony today at 11:00 about the accident at Okrešelj: http://www.grzs.si/Default.aspx?MenuID=13, about which a book has also been published: http://www.gore-ljudje.net/novosti/10048/. I would just add the thought that Miro Pogačnik, president of the mountain rescue association, expressed last year at the ceremony:
"Not everyone is given to become a mountain rescuer. One must have a lot of will, knowledge and energy. Above all heart and heartiness are important, that in the moment when someone needs us, when it might be nicest for us, we separate from our dearest and rush to the wall, night, fog, forest or elsewhere to help the one who needs us. This is the opportunity and mission that those who died in the tragedy chose." (source: Novi tednik).
