Mengeš Hut on Gobavica

Today on a pleasant walk to the little hill above Mengeš -Gobavica, where there is a pleasant hut. We drive to Mengeš and a sign in the middle of town directs us to the parking lot. From there we can also drive by car to the hut on asphalt, but that wasn't our intention. A pleasant marked path takes us flat to the hut. This is basically a trim trail equipped with exercise devices and obligatory benches along the entire path. In less than half an hour we are at the pleasant hut, where children are also taken care of. They even have some farm animals, pleasant outdoor buffet and lots of seats. Really a pleasant excursion spot for old and young. Warmly recommend!

This year too I took my grandson on an excursion to Gobavica. This is a pleasant excursion spot above Mengeš. In good twenty minutes we reached the Mengeš Hut on Gobavica on foot.

In front of the hut there is even a small buffet.

Mengeš was once known as a carters' place.

For children, especially interesting will be the domestic animals - Vietnamese piglets.

And of course the indispensable goats with which children have the most fun.

The children are satisfied, they didn't have to eat the prest, the goats ate them.

Down we go along the asphalt past this nicely painted chapel.

Past a pleasant refreshments place at the bend before descending the serpentines to the parking lot.

Today Škofja Loka retirees went on a pleasant spring walk to Gobavica to Mengeš Hut.

Unfortunately, the manor with accompanying buildings is in rather poor condition.

The Staretov avenue also recalls this manor.

When we are already in Mengeš, it is worth taking a look at it.

Instead of descending from the hut by road, you could descend back to the trim trail, continue along it nicely through forest and reach the cross and back to start the same way.

That Staretov grad is as it is, is another story. Why no more goats and other critters graze there, nice addition for hikers especially families with kids, is even sadder story.
