Mengore (453 m) and Kozlov rob (426 m)

Both elevations are located more on the edge of the Tolmin basin. Kozlov rob caught our eye years ago when we were ascending towards Žabji Kuk and marveled at this triangular, overgrown feature in the view back towards Tolmin. We looked towards Mengore when we were walking the 11th stage of Juliana Trail from Most na Soči to Tolmin and back on the other side. Once we thought of linking both interesting elevations in Tolmin when there were no more serious plans for higher mountains. It was a good idea! We linked both tours separately into a circular tour. First we started in the nice village of Modrejce, where we followed the signs along the old, former mule track (at least that's what we judged) towards the Bučenica ridge (510 m). At this elevation we came upon a really beautiful viewpoint above the Tolmin basin, where views reached much higher to almost all surrounding snow-covered peaks from the Kanin group, across Batognica, Stadorji, Tolmin Kuk, all the way to Žabji Kuk. This was the third viewpoint on the path, but it's worth going to the first two anyway. From the third viewpoint the signs showed one more hour to the Mengore summit. Exceptionally many markings on the path overall. Then we descended again via the little peak Kuk and up again to Mengore, where the Church of Mary's Name is located. Mengore was, according to oral tradition, the gathering place of the leaders of the Tolmin peasant revolt in 1713. From there we descended to the southern side and via the Poljance pass back to the car. For Kozlov rob we drove to the parking lot for Tolmin Gorges and headed first to Grajska Path, returning via Gozdna Path. Grajska Path is now like some macadam variant, as the castle on top is being renovated, but we still had the view. It's interesting to read the history of this castle fortress at the top, so I'll attach a picture of the information board too. Return via Gozdna Path was the complete opposite of Grajska Path and you return to the starting point via zigzag variant through beautiful forest. I recommend visiting these really low peaks!
