Jesenice-Podmežakla

Past the sports hall, through the underpass, and we're at the signs on the road marking our path. Go right on the little path and then on the cart track which soon joins the forest road. Continue left, the path is quite well marked. Then our path branches off to the right from the forest road. Just before the top (,on the spruce right sign for Jesenice), turn left towards the ridge. The path is well trodden and marked. Nice views of Jesenice, surrounding places and Karavanke. In between we also check out the partisan hospital, it's well marked. Then continue towards the transmitter. There we take a short breather and enjoy the view into the valley. Our path continues a bit further to the natural bridge. Really nice, čav!

No, Majda, (in my opinion) you really enthuse, as about our wonderful Mežakla here, and also elsewhere on the internet there's not much to find. What a pity.
Rarely visited plateau, worth much more than just a mention - our Mežakla.
Glad you enjoyed it there! Surely we'll meet sometime up there, in its silence!

Partisan hospital, transmitter, natural bridge...
just the right hike if there are other obligations. Just need to get up earlier, no problem. New memorial plaque at the hospital. Nice path, pleasantly cool weather, no one around, only a roe deer watched us in the morning, then it vanished into the bushes. We too seldom use our beautiful Mežakla. It's so nice and solitary. Nice feeling to have used this nice Sunday...Majda

Gotta go somewhere, and it's close. Light snow on the ridge, rain on the way back, quite varied. The path was accordingly wet, slippery, but still fine, čav ...

Lots of leaves and lots of peace.
It was a nice day, right? I was at the other end (across) the valley - there was surely more traffic.., which is not really an advantage.

3.8... Partisan hospital, Špica viewpoint, Natural bridge, Planski peak, Mežakla Meteorite, Zakop was my ramble. Markings to Zakop are new. Along the ridge the path is unmarked, but pleasant, solitary. Yesterday there was quite some traffic. In the hospital there's a new setup in the room. New platform, Špica viewpoint is nicely done and on the info board you can find names of peaks and surroundings if you don't know. Maybe it will attract more visitors, yesterday I met eight... It's safe and views of Jesenice are wonderful. Also nice in the home area, and you can walk there from home. nasmeh

Up to Mala Mežakla the path is dry, middle part a bit under snow, a bit dry, last part all under snow, otherwise it's a trodden path. From Zakop to transmitter still quite some sinking snow, off path up to knees nasmeh

Today after work I went up to check nasmeh

path dry to Mala Mežakla, further mostly under snow or ice, some parts very icy, most icy is the last slope before Zakop. Even where it looks dry there's ice under leaves. Mežakla is lonely, last entry in the book at viewpoint was 20.2. Regards

Today I went up nasmeh

Snow on path starts a bit below Zakop, further along ridge mostly dry, some little snow left, from viewpoint to Planski vrh still about 15-20cm snow on path. Regards

Now no more snow, just 3 small patches on the path from the viewpoint to Planski vrh. Summit logbook gone, probably not at viewpoint either, at least last time there was none jezen

today didn't check, just passed by. Don't know why anyone would enjoy stealing logbooks, on Mežakla not the first time jezen

Nice day, warm, afternoon to viewpoint at Špica, direct from work to top good hour walk, on way back also partisan hospital visit. From start of marked path to top and back met no one nasmeh
