Hi!
I'm wondering if anyone knows where in the mountain world there are midnight masses on Christmas - polnočnica as we call it at home 
Now the conditions are really proper winter ones; the Christmas spirit would come out even more...
I know there's a mass at the chapel on Velika Planina. Do you know any other location?

on Gori Oljka every year. Hut open. Haven't joined some years - per visitors' stories (lots of banging and alcohol) so not that..
Wouldn't want bad promo - maybe still somewhere without firecrackers and other extras - cos not homely.. or maybe already..?

Karin, midnight mass also at chapel on Velika Planina. Just dress warm, cos practically outdoors.

What are the winter conditions on Pokljuka and surroundings? Road passability? I want to do tours around here during the Christmas holidays.

Conditions on Pokljuka are wintery. Lots of snow. High avalanche danger (depending on location). Weather very bad for a long, long time. Road passable (chains sometimes needed). No midnight mass on Pokljuka. Christmas yes! that's it!

Midnight masses are every year also at Sveti Križ above Beli Vodi. To the top one walks, attendance is quite big, so column of people with torches and lights winding to the top looks really nice.
