Miklavška gora (955m)

Today we ascended from the village of Selca to Miklavška gora. Because there is about 10 cm of new snow on the path, gaiters are recommended. Due to the partly icy path I also recommend small crampons with 4 or 6 teeth. We descended via a gentler path that for the most part runs along the road.

Miklavška gora first caught my eye when a few months ago I was admiring the view from Križna gora. At that time I was figuring out the name of the little hill with a quite mysterious church on the top, on which summit I hadn't been yet.
Today then in a shorter circular variant namely from the hayrack above lower Golica, where you get or drive to from Selca, then along the forest road to the path that comes from Rovno, return past the quarry and chapel on the pass above upper Golica and then towards the starting point.
On the top pleasant rest on the bench in front of the St. Miklavž church, in front of which you can admire a really interesting portal. There are also more views than I imagined, of course if the weather cooperates.
Summit worth visiting! This St. Miklavž provides good energy!

Miklavž was the first point of a slightly longer hike that we did yesterday morning with Marko, up from Železniki through Studeno, down to Golica to that hayrack at the bend where the footpath, actually trail, to Dolenja vas splits off. We continued our route on that one too...

vencelj1, since you're probably local, know the name of the hill from pic 11, right side? Thanks ahead.

Vancovec (1085 m), haven't been there yet and it's not too crowded either. Googling gives some results, maybe useful tips...

On Saturday we visited Miklavška gora. It's been a long time since Ločanka's last post. We used to always go at the beginning of December on an organized hike. This time from Rovn parking, along the road to Golica hamlet, then right onto the cart track. Instead of continuing right, I turned left a bit too early, but we got to that path from the chapel to the top. We met Mrs. Manca, who is over 80 both in years and in this year's ascents to Miklavška gora, worth congratulating. I got a bit confused and instead of going down past the transformer, turned towards the quarry again, then down past the chapel. We could have gone part of the path through the forest, but it was very muddy, so we went by road. Nice views towards KSA on the way, at the top towards Ratitovec, in the distance Rjavina, we wouldn't have known if Mrs. Manca hadn't told us. Next time we'll go by the steep one to check if the gnomes are still there.

Yesterday with Blue from the parking lot at Lotrič, past the dog club's facilities to the church on Miklavška gora. The second part is quite a knee-gnasher, but worth it nasmeh Lots of Turk's lilies at the transformer, and the other flowers are currently in full bloom.
We descended towards Golica, then at the big hayrack we headed towards Dolenja vas because there was a horse event, so we went to see it. Maybe some yellow-green markings are missing from the fork to the village, but if you follow the most trodden path, there shouldn't be any problems.
From Dolenja vas we returned along the field path, which soon joins Selška Sora, where Blue of course had to cool off a bit velik nasmeh Super day well spent in the company of my vizsla goat nasmeh
