I don't know where to put this topic. I hope it's right. I was hanging around the Celje and Kozje areas, had a chance to hop to Miklavški peak and to St. Nicholas church. Then to the monastery and down the Capuchin stairs to City Park. Weather didn't allow more.

Yes, nasmeh nice. It would be correct to classify it under Zasavsko-Posavsko hribovje and Dolenjska. Official name is also hill, Miklavški or Miklavžev. Thanks for the glimpse above Celje in the form of a short description and photos. Regards

Miklavški hrib from mežikanje Štor. First under the 700 m high Srebotnik, to the Marija chapel carved in the east wall of Srebotnik at about 500 m. Then in the opposite direction of CPP-Celjske planinske poti to Stari celjski grad on Grajski hrib. Descent via Pelikanova pot to Celje. Some addition and to the right bank of Savinja to the top of Miklavški hrib... church Sv. Miklavža, extension to the viewpoint tower and descent to Celje. Nice evening view of Celje and surroundings from both the path and the viewpoint tower...
Paths suitable for time and weather... In higher areas light snow was falling, below in Celje light rain. Short evening trail - orientation easy, elevation gain for the relatively low terrain somewhat more than expected. Yes, and in the smoke from chimneys of homesteads along the path it was already felt... approaching weather change.
Definitely also interesting, the lowest mežikanje "lower floor" of Celje hills. Could call it Poljčane/departure 17:52 - arrival 21:56 Express. It was pleasant nasmeh.
Route... Štore - Celje, 29.01.2015. Best regards

On Sunday 24.10.2015 a more substantial one higher into the world of Celje hills. From Štor to Almin dom via the Čez Žlajfo path. Ramanca peak directly above the hut at 782 m, the highest point of the path. Then descent towards Celje to the important spiritual site for locals - chapel of Marija carved into the wall of 700 m high Srebotnik. From there descent via CPP to Celje.
As there was still some time before the train departure... extension with buddy Vinko, who joined today on/above the right bank of Savinja to Miklavški hrib and Anski vrh for mežikanje something new. The novelty was Anski vrh, first time for both. Pleasant and nice peak, this is an extension of Celje city park and forest. Fairly visited paths, distinctly family-oriented.
Yes, it was pleasant on paths already clad in quite autumn colors Celjskega hribovja. Paths mostly dry, some muddy sections, lots of sun and some wind. Today first time with Vibram soles on shoes - they gripped excellently where needed. Mainly I use Salomon Contragrip. To Štor and from Celje to Poljčane for 4.62 Euros - weekend return ticket with help of SŽ. Best regards!

On holiday Monday short circular hiking activity in the area of Miklavški hrib and Anski vrh. Practically directly above Celje or right bank of Savinja. Both peaks somehow an extension of the city park. In a few kilometers many interesting points and also different surfaces for path variety. In the Miklavški hrib area a solitary path while Anski vrh was well visited. Cloudy with some flashes of sun on mostly dry paths...Pešpoti/Miklavški hrib in Anski vrh, 28.03.2016 and Strava/Nad Celjem neposredno - Miklavški hrib in Anski vrh/krožna, 28.03.2016... In the central part of Saturday 16.04.2016 short hiking activity between Štore and Celje. Two main targets... Stari Celjski grad and on the right bank of Savinja Miklavški hrib in direct line Osen(i)ca - Polule. Quite atypical path, question whether anyone has been active on this route but still interesting insight into the area above Voglajna and Savinja. Paths dry... some kilometers and also elevation meters. The path quite undulating, today dry ground with lots of sun and some westerly wind in nasmeh pleasant spring colors of nature...Strava/Miklavški hrib nad Celjem, 16.04.2016 and Pešpoti/Med Štorami in Celjem v liniji Osenca - Polule Stari celjski grad in Miklavški hrib, 16.04.2016 Best regards

Today crossing peaks on the southern slopes of Celje. Started and ended at Celje Hut near the railway station, then did the following loop: center-city park-lookout tower-Miklavški hill-tree house-Anski peak-Lisce-center. Weather gorgeous, path locally quite icy, so a bit sorry I didn't take crampons, but possible without, just step more carefully. Collected almost 9 km and 500 elevation meters. Since holidays, invite you for a walk around my town and nearby hills. Met 4 hikers on path, so peace guaranteed. No pub on path to drink tea, so it waits in town. Suggest also jump to Old Castle via Pelikan path, where they prepared quite interesting things for kids.
Start at Celje Lodge, where Alma Karlin will see you off on the trail.1
