Mill Path

Now that we are limited to our own municipalities there are few options for visits to other municipalities. In the Kranj municipality we do have some mid-mountain area. One of the excursion points is also Sv. Lovrenc. To not violate municipal borders we will climb to it from the village Povlje. When the asphalt ends we head to the path marked P2-Path under Storžič. This is also the mill path - these are Srečetovi mlinčki. We will need a good half hour to reach the little church on Sv. Lovrenc. The path is neither long nor too demanding. Yesterday I went on this path with my four-year-old granddaughter and on the path up and down she didn't need any help. Children must have hiking shoes though. The path was partially a bit frozen - nothing slipped. Where it dried it was a bit muddy - but nothing special. Really recommended!

Mill Path There is just enough water for them to turn.7
Mill Path The path ahead becomes a bit more demanding - we descend a little, ascend a little.8
Mill Path We have arrived at the end of the mills' path.9

But Sv. Lovrenc is no longer in Kranj municipality, it's already Preddvor municipality, just for info, since you emphasized not crossing municipal borders. If from MOK, then visiting Lovrenc you crossed municipal borders mežikanje

But it won't hold. I have the Kranj municipality map in front of me. Half of Sv. Lovrenc is in Kranj, half in Preddvor municipality.

And since accessed from Povlje village, no violation.

Anyway restrictions are so that ......

Yes, precisely because he came from Povlje and went past Srečetovi mlinčki, he violated. If we look at pictures, he went past Srečetovi mlinčki, then from behind to Lovrenc and here he was in breach. The place where 12th picture was taken is part of Preddvor municipality, same pictures 8 to 11 (for 13th I won't swear it is too). Even if you google Sv. Lovrenc, from Wikipedia you get: "Sv. Lovrenc nad Bašljem is a church and popular excursion point above Bašelj place in Preddvor municipality." Both church and hut a bit lower are in Preddvor municipality. I know the terrain too well not to be right jezik
And no mistake, it doesn't bother me he crossed borders, but because Velkavrh is sure he didn't, and emphasized no border crossing. But he did. So he knows for next time mežikanje

I hope that in the future all mountain visitors will use maps so extensively, especially know how to use them correctly, as during the time of searching and determining municipal borders. jezikvelik nasmehmežikanjevelik nasmeh

Ben, I already know how to use them now or for several years when I hike more intensively in the hills, since I haven't got lost yet, and I hike a lot off paths too mežikanje
Here it's not even about knowing maps, but the terrain itself, since I know the Preddvor hills very well, I've walked them lengthwise and crosswise, so I also know which hills and peaks are Preddvor velik nasmeh

Let's see what the Tourist map of the city municipality of Kranj (1:30000) shows: picture 8 taken in Kranj municipality, pictures 9,10 and 11 taken on the border, pictures 12,13 and 14 in Preddvor municipality. The border obviously runs along the ridge, the summit itself (?) and the church are a few meters on the Preddvor side. The hut is on the border. The Milka stream is entirely in Kranj municipality anyway.

I absolutely support such *serious* violations, otherwise I'm not from either the first or the second municipality.

It's high time to abolish the ban on crossing municipal borders... if there has to be something, regions make more sense than municipalities. My municipality is for example 1 km from east to west and 4 km from south to north... of course it has not even one hill.

And nice hiking greetings to all regardless of municipalities.

Uroš, unfortunately I don't agree with you, pictures 8,9,10 and 11 are in Preddvor municipality, since they are all located to the right of the summit or church, if we look at my map, so they are entirely in Preddvor municipality, I'd put my hand into the fire for that. Regarding the others I agree with you, and I also wish they abolish the restriction of crossing between municipalities as soon as possible. Apparently Gorenjska looks good if they start opening by regions nasmeh

And a bit more on the border topic. Anyway the path is abnormally crowded at this time, so it's hard to meet according to regulations, but picture 8 is taken above the mills, on the slope descending towards Babni vrt and definitely left of the summit and entirely in Kranj municipalitynasmeh

Thanks for the clarifications! I was mistaken. Where did all that crowd go - there at the parking in Povlje I counted about thirty cars and there were also higher up, we can only guess. At the church there were only about ten people. Where that crowd of people went further, we can only wonder. Normally from here I go to Storžič, to Kališče, to Polani, to Tolsti vrh and towards Kriška planina, and also to Jakob I went over all peaks of Zaplate.
