Monte Brancot

Nice days lured us to the hills on the slopes of the Po Plain this time. The drive from central Slovenia is quite long, so we decided to make the most of the day. Besides Little Carman, we treated ourselves to an ascent to the lesser-known Monte Brancot.

Starting point is in the village of Braulins, not far from Humin (Gemona). The ascent starts at the village fountain, right below the wall with the 13th-century church. The entire path is steep and well-marked. The time estimates on the signs are surprisingly tight. The path is suitable for early spring or late autumn days. In summer it's too hot.

Monte Brancot is a viewpoint and the first in the scenic and marked ridge that runs all the way to the Interneppo saddle. The signs say the whole path takes 4 hours and it's quite believable. We unfortunately ran out of time this time. See you next time nasmeh. There was a running event over it this weekend.

Coordinates of starting point (Braulins): 46°17''15.4"N 13°05''35.7"E

Starting point Braulins -> Monte Boscatz - Monte Brancot - Monte Palantarins - Tre Corni - Monte Naruvint -> Braulins

Forecast promised morning with double-digit minus, Carnic prealps invited to wonderful ambience and more bearable temperatures, so I took the path under feet.
The kuclji above Bordan are low, crossing possible with brains on 'off', if you don't imagine some detour. mežikanje It didn't let me rest and after ascent from Braulins at the saddle I turned left and went pathless up to Boscatz. Continuation over all peaks in the ridge and behind the last, M. Naruvint (descent), sign that the path is dangerous ('sentiero pericoloso'; path not marked as 'inagibile'); caution with frozen ground not amiss. Just before the road Bordano-Interneppo, on which I could have 'trudged' kilometers on asphalt, I turned onto an old and quite interesting path (twice hard to push through fallen trees, but sections short).
On return last look into the kingdom of white-headed eagles and already speeding home.

If anyone interested - belongs to the penultimate pic: https://www.falesia.it/images/falesia/italia/friuli/gemona.pdf

Braulins - Monte Brancot - Monte Palantarins - Tre Corni - Monte Naruvint - Braulins

We did a similar tour as described by little climber, just didn't go to her first peak. Otherwise the samenasmeh. It's about peaks in a nice ridge south of San Simeone mountain, nestled between Braulins which was our starting point and Interneppo by the beautiful Cavazzo lake. All these hills are surrounded by the Tilment river, which we could admire on most of the path.

We've had this little ridge in mind for a year or so, when on the way back from Little Carman we drove close to admire the beautiful red church of St. Michael, leaning against the rocky wall, of course with views of the gravel beds and waters of the Tilment river winding below these slopes. Enough to make your feet itchnasmeh.
Some data from this path: we drove 149 km from our place, were on the path about good 7 hours (with breaks, photos, all together) and walked about 10 km or made about 1100m elevation gainnasmeh. Enthused!
