Monte Cimon - Creta di Entralais

Yesterday on a nice sunny Sunday, Marjeta and I set off from Pesaris in Val Pesarina towards the lesser-known peak Monte Cimon 2422 m, which belongs to the Crete Forate group. Initially the path led us steeply through the forest to the Entralais shelter at 1572 m, then further along the extremely picturesque and scenic valley Val Lona di Entralas to the same-named pass. From the pass we climbed first through steep grasses, then across the eastern or SE wall to the summit. The route is only marked with red or blue dots and cairns, no fixed protection, difficulty around grade I, in some shorter section on the north side up to weak II. From the summit there is an exceptional view, which in such weather as yesterday reaches from our Julian Alps, High Tauern to the Dolomites. We descended the same path, except in the upper rocky part we descended a short gully and thus avoided the exposed section on the SE side of the mountain.

After 6 years back on Cimon. Nothing particularly new on the path, just that from the shelter onwards it's even more overgrown, some fallen trees across the path, result of this winter and snow avalanches.

Started in Cima Sappada, at the lower chairlift station to Rifugio Siera hut. From there to the pasture with Malga Tuglia, met Miran and wife there. He describes tours here often, we know each other via ZS, in person this time by chance. Path to Passo di Entralais damaged here and there by nature, cairns help, most of the ascent in shade. At pass into sun, further ascent hot like summer. Red marks and cairns showed the way to summit, sometimes hands needed, occasionally a more exposed meter of path. After the tour we agreed no II deserved, Miran and wife did the ascent with poles, safely and without issues. Rest on top passed with pleasant chat and views of surrounding mountains, Hohe Tauern, Dolomites and Julians just part of what was seen... Descent to pass almost the same path. Almost because near the pass we turned into a quite steep gully, which proved to be an excellent shortcut. Shade, into which we entered from the pass, did me good at least, scree fields we found provided pleasant sliding to the valley. We ended the trip at the pasture with a bottle of refreshing drink, then went to our cars. Miran, great day and great tour - greetings to you and your better half nasmeh

Sunny and quite bare slopes on the approach from Val Pesarina in this time and weather are no advantage. So choice fell on Pian di Vas - 1250m starting point above Rigolato. Path from there to Tuglia pasture is pleasant, fairly shady and on it in a little over 1.30h you don't gain much height, as it goes a bit up and down. Met Bojan at trail junction as if we had arranged the exact hour velik nasmeh. How the tour went and how great we had it Bojan already described, but it surprises me that despite all the beauty we met no living soul above the pasture. From the pasture we returned on the longer path past Chiampizzulon hut and thus concluded another great day in Carnia. Bojan, best regards and hope we soon repeat something in similar surroundings nasmeh

Nice descent along the bolli rossi and blu gully here and there - at this point it is best to exit onto the grass to the right and down to the saddle11

@mirank, looks like you and Bojan took over descriptions and visits, of course instead of late Igor. Commendable.
