Recently I drove to Kobarid and further towards the Robič border crossing but already in Staro Selo settlement I turned right towards Breginj where I didn't arrive either. I had already turned left earlier in Borjane settlement and descended to Podbela. From there a bit further to the opposite bank and turned left on the first road after the camp into the Mija range. When the road got snowy I continued on foot along the road then more or less by memory with Garmin in hand to the summit of Mont Mia 1237, which is in Italy. The terrain was quite demanding in snow among rocks also due to fallen trees. Although probably not many visitors come to the top I found orange peels which reminded me of civilization. I returned via another direction and again retreated along the road from the fallen trees. Probably not many hikers go to this summit so I wrote a short description here. Actually only this direction is suitable for ascent elsewhere cliffs drop steeply to the bed of Nadiža, which surrounds Mija summit from three sides.

Hello, the starting point for Mija is the pass above Pradolo, which we reach from Napoleon's bridge (straight up only; it's marked and trodden). Another starting point is the village Štupca/Stupizza on the Italian side. Both paths can be combined into a circular route and we can also walk through the interesting Pradolino valley. Tabacco map 041 has the routes nicely drawn.
