Monte Paularo

After a long time again a bit to Karnjice. Today's goal was the 2043m high Monte Paularo. With a colleague from Mojstrana we drive by car to the place Paluzza. There we park the car and continue by bike to attack our today's goal. First we go past the village Trepo Carnico, where the road soon starts steeply climbing, we go past Ligosula and soon after the village we go left another 3 km to the castle Valdajer, where the steepness eases. There we turn left on the still asphalted path, which after a good km ends and well-arranged macadam starts, which climbs evenly with some hairpins to the top. Some km below the top we come to lake Dimon. Then soon we arrive at a larger flat plateau, where the road ends. From there still some elevation to the top of Paularo, where the bike must be pushed more or less. Unfortunately the weather at the top wasn't most favorable as quite dense fog was hanging around there. From the top we descend a few meters and at a small junction we go on path no. 404, which leads to pasture Pramosio. Excellent single track which winds a good 4 km to the pasture. At some places also a little on foot as there's quite some stones. When we arrive at the mentioned pasture (it's extremely picturesque) we stop for about an hour, drink something, buy cheese which is excellent for 11 euros, then seven-kilometer descent on excellent macadam to the main road and then back by road to Paluzza. Super tour where mountain biker finds a bit of everything. Tour is quite demanding as there's 17 km climb (1440 m elevation) to top Paularo and quite demanding single track to pasture Pramosio. In total it was 35 km.

Really nice tour, although weather teased us a bit. Hats off to our neighbors how and where they lead superb macadam roads. Ah, thanks for the tour invite.
