Monte Serla-2378 m, Monte Lungo-2282 m

We almost chose twins for the first day of autumn exploration of the Dolomites. The goal was adjusted to the long drive from Slovenia, the peaks lie somewhere in the Braies Dolomites, more precisely above Lago di Dobbiaco lake. Here we also started.

First we followed path 29 past Toblacher See camp and in Seghe hamlet turned left onto 16A, then onto mark 16. This led us to Passo Suis saddle, where several paths cross. To the easy but very scenic summit Monte Serla path 33 led us, to the neighboring Monte Lungo 33B.

Continuing we followed mark 33 again to Passo Serla saddle, then descended into the valley on 14. This path, or rather gravel road, is so steep that you need to hold back a bit to avoid falling on your nose velik nasmeh

. A bit of exaggeration of course doesn't hurt, but the road to Korošica on Ljubelj is a small thing compared to this one, for real. Both happy after a good kilometer we finished the descent and finally stretched our legs at Toblacher lake. More follows in photo-story ...
