@palček plezalček: I'm interested how you know that the road to the pass is open on weekends? Where does it say that? I plan to go there tomorrow from the Italian side.

Maybe the timber removal doesn't happen in August because of Italian August?

After one year together there again because we are the happiest, most satisfied and relaxed. We visited my first ferrata after ten years....I can't describe how beautiful it is there,,,if we disregard the road that leads to the pass,,,everything else I would sum up in one word,,,fairy tale.

Up to the Lonice pass the road is closed with signs but you can go. Up the lower path, back via the ridge, some light rain. Also to the neighboring peak Monte Pizzul

Rare are such autumn days when it's warm for shorts and short sleeves and views far around. Up the normal path, down the ridge, Lonice pass has a prohibition sign but you can get to the pass without trouble. There were more cars up.

In a few FB posts I read that the road from Pontebba to Lonice is closed or that there's a barrier just before the pasture (don't know exactly which) due to quite damaged road and that the path extends by more than one hour. Does anyone know more about it?

The road to Lonice (Passo Lanza) is still closed and will remain so for some time. The damage to the road is serious and will require a decent investment of both money and work, because it seems that the entire slope is slowly sliding.
I went up by bike. On the side from Tablja (Pontebba) there is a locked ramp before the rocky part. Above the Caserute pasture there are also concrete barriers besides the ramp. Passage is possible only by bike (and of course on foot). On the ascent there were some motorcycles from both sides, but they had to turn back.
On one hand it's a pity, because Lonice is a nice starting point for tours, on the other hand with a bike on the ascent (more or less) it's blissful peace.

I'll just borrow this topic, hope it's OK.
I'm interested how parking (van/motorhome) is in the Carnic Alps? Is it similar to the Dolomites (passes etc.) or more like at home (camps)?
