Hello, In Podolševa, at Sveti Duh or at the Prevc farm there should have been a mountaineering shelter PD Solčava a few decades ago. Does anyone have a photo of the shelter or its location? Thanks for the information. Best, Nino

The hut under Olševa was open in 1954, it was located under the church of the Holy Spirit. Which building exactly it was and when it "stopped" being a mountain hut, I don't know.

Was one of these collapsed houses (x, xy) the Hut under Olševa? @Geppo? Although the sketch shows the hut was on the other side...

As far as I remember, it was somewhere there where xy is marked. I remember that around 1975 (for exact date I'd have to check the chronicle) as teenagers we planned to overnight there, the hut was still open, but they sent us away saying we couldn't because of proximity to the border. Then we continued over Olševa and in the dark reached Bukovnik and rented a room there. At that checkpoint they always complicated. About 13 years later they didn't allow us ascent to Olševa, saying we need permission from the municipality for it. They would allow only to Potočka zijalka, threatening to observe us during ascent. We thanked them nicely and went to the valley and from there to Klemenča cave. At that time there were problems with border guards on all border peaks. To Peč we went in winter from Topla past the cave of king Matjaž, because otherwise at the checkpoint they always nagged what we would do up there in the snow. Nowadays everything is different. I hope people realize this and will do everything so that these goodies remain for our descendants too.

Quickly from memory: At Sv. Duh under Olševa (= Podolševa) there was never a mountain hut, but a private farm fulfilled that task, which had one room reserved for hikers and other tourists. I think the farm was called pri Strevcu (definitely not pri Prevcu). Today the tourist farm Rogar fulfills the function of mountain hut, where they offer food, drinks and accommodations to guests. They also have stamps of all surrounding peaks there.

Thanks to everyone for the replies. @Fulcrum, correct. It's at Strevc and not at Prevc as I wrote. Best, Nino
