Today we set off on an easier snow tour from Zajavornik pasture to Blejska koča at Lipanca. From there we headed towards Mrežc ridge, about a couple hundred meters before the ridge we turned right off the path, as the gully there offered a new challenge. Conditions were far from ideal, powder, deep sinking snow, but my friend and I bravely started climbing the gully ahead (meanwhile the third member turned back, as he didn't have climbing crampons). The gully was quite steep, with a rock step in the middle. Slope I'd estimate 60 to 90 degrees. When we finally reached the ridge below Mrežc summit a beautiful view opened to Triglav, Rjavina and hills from Viševnik onwards. At the summit we stayed 5 min, then headed to Lipanski vrh. Apart from some belays and deep snow the path is well tracked (I left that task to my buddy  ). At the summit we admired filled gullies on Rjavina slopes and surrounding hills... Next time when conditions are better. Great day, bad conditions for climbing, better for ski tourers (though I couldn't count them on the fingers of both hands!). Great company. Viševnik packed full! Well, I'll add a few words. In the morning Peter and I were the first to bite from Blejska koča towards Mrežce, about halfway my "pes" on the skis crapped out, so we fixed it with a prusik (from now on it'll be part of the gear). In that time two ski tourers overtook us, which eased our way to Mrežc summit. Behind us a phalanx of walkers and ski tourers came pouring, and I'm quite satisfied I was among the first to descend from the top today, as it's real pleasure. Quite a bit of snow in drifts, on the path all kinds of snow. Track and skin track are done, but conditions will probably change a lot during tomorrow. LP Andrej

and didn't it get on your nerves that people walk on ski tracks instead of making their own track? or at least beaten one... I don't ski tour myself, but it still annoys me... Mrežce full of people, Lipanski vrh deserted. yeah, we were a bit late, otherwise we'd meet. start from car at 11am!!!  holidays...

Yes I agree with you, but it will be,.. I'm eternal optimist. We finished the tour at 12, maybe we met on the path. Next time! LP Andrej

I was with husband one of many walkers on Mrežce. Wonderful sunny day, full of visitors, nice views....(unlike Saturday visit to Komna, snowy, foggy). Summits already visited. Nice mountaineering start to the year

Today a great day on Mrežce, quite tracked out, but still found some powder in the bushes
