.... A bit of breaking through, but no big deal, no crust. On the ascent to the summit the snow was wet, slippery, holes formed there too...

Although conditions from this post are no longer "current" as quite some snow fell on Sunday, still.. We started the path to Murnovc this Friday from Železnica, past the hunting hut among glowing larches up to the saddle with junction to Trupejevo poldne, Lepi vrh, descent to hunting hut below Lepi vrh, but we continued on the (marked) Alpe Adria trail heading north. Path is well traceable, we met quite a few - mainly German-speaking - hikers. Trail later crosses slopes of Ostrega vrh, after small saddle Murnovc appears above Stara planina. Path follows to forest edge on its slope, descends to visible Maloško poldne and then easy off-trail in moderate slope to the summit. On the warm summit nice views all around, Karavanke, Julijci, Klagenfurt basin, Grossglockner too. Returned same way. Nice, not at all strenuous path; believe even in snow nicely traceable.

Nice autumn shots, Marjan. Not much missing to golden larches. Between Ovčji vrh and Dovška Baba steep little peak is probably Zelenjak. (pic. 17)

I was recently on both - I'd say it's Palec, Zelenjak hidden right of it.

You're right. Only a glimpse of Zelenjak visible, hiding behind Baba.

Veliki vrh v Košuta would be my first suggestion

Djimuzl, very nice. Thanks. Proof that Karavanke are the most beautiful range in Slovenia Gregor, I'd say it's Obir Regards, Nino
