Monday hikers - retired group of PD Škofja Loka this time explored Dolenjska. Near Šentrupert is a popular excursion spot more than a serious mountain hike - Heavens. It is a wonderful panoramic point 602m high from which there is a wonderful view on almost half of Dolenjska. In Šentrupert there was of course first coffee - there we had also at the end of the hike a warm snack - highly recommend. Then we drove a bit with the bus. Some hikers drove a bit further. Main group of hikers went partly on Steklasova hiking trail through villages Kamnje, Hrastno, Hom, to church Sv. Duha in Vihr and then to these Heavens. One walks mostly on road - asphalt. Rather little through forest, among vineyards and meadows. Roughly after two hours we arrived in Heavens. Here is a mountain hut - sadly closed. Here is also Heavens stamp and logbook. Back some went straight with bus to Šentrupert. Main group went on foot to Šentrupert. Down went more pleasantly, through forest, through meadows, past zidanic. Down we were substantially faster than up.
