On the Path of Flowers in Autumn

On the centenary of the publication of Tavčar's book Flowers in Autumn, they held a ceremonial opening of the new thematic path - Path of Flowers in Autumn. Every year therefore on the last Sunday in August there is a guided hike on this path. The starting point of the guided hike is at Videm near the inn - 399m is the altitude here. The path runs from there to the top of Blegoš - 1562 m. We cover 15.2km. The guided hike lasts 5 hours, with stops 7 hours. Along the entire path we encounter the path marker - it is a medicinal flower that blooms at the end of summer - it is the marsh gentian - also named Christ's shirt - at least here they call it that locally.

We went on the path on Thursday 08.11.2018. We shortened the path a bit. We drove to the village of Volča and that was our start. Our path went through the village of Volča, through Lovsko Brdo, through Malenski Vrh, Jelovo Brdo, Gorenje Žetine. From there to Črni Kal. You can also drive there with personal cars. Then the path leads across Ajdova reber to the plain below the summit and we are at the Koča na Blegošu. Some of us went across the ridge path to the top of Blegoš and then descended to the hut. The ridge path was indeed a bit muddy, slippery. Just for our really huge group they opened the hut. We had a long hike of course, but the sunshine on Blegoš rewarded all our effort.
