Orglice Waterfall

From the cable car on Velika Planina drive another approx. 1600 m to the parking lot on the right in the forest. From the parking lot (same as for Korošica, Ojstrica) you can set off along the right forest path. Mostly the path is gentle, wide, towards the end (a little before the waterfall) you have to cross the stream twice (over rocks or stones sticking out of the water), then along a somewhat exposed narrow trail and rocks to the viewpoint where the waterfall is best seen. Today there was quite a lot of water in it, likewise in the stream. Silence, solitude, the whole way there and back we met only one hiker (with a nice little dog) and a family with two small children.

I knew the Kamniška Bistrica area is beautiful, but that it hides such a treasure as Orglice waterfall - actually source of Kamniška Belanasmeh, I learned by chance. And today, not a day to go any higher (original plan Dobrča, but dark clouds persisted), I decide to gather energy for the new work week somewhere I haven't been.

After less than 2 km from the gondola station, on the right side, we park the car. Fog and dark clouds cover the view of Rzenik and Konjmrk pogled, but not their cliffs. Which are mighty. Wide cart track suitable for young families as well as older visitors. We ascend relatively slowly along the stream, breathless at the sight of the clear daughter of the Kamnik mountainsnasmeh. Several times the water sinks - characteristic for this tributary of Kamniška Bistrica. I hope there's enough of it around here for the waterfall to be beautiful and majesticnasmeh. Only now do I realize that we were walking on the path we take to Konj and Rzenikeek. That's why we meet so many hikers. There we turn left, towards the waterfall. The path is not marked but easy to follow. Soon we are under the waterfall. The murmur of crystal-clear water soothes... It also brings joy and draws a smile on the facenasmehmežikanje... Even in such gloomy weather as today... We are alone. The path steepens into a slope winding up the left side. We are careful not to slip, as it is quite slipperyeek. The view of the waterfall enchants us. And inspires us. As we return, a young family arrives. So the waterfall did not stay lonely. We went further up the path, hoping to see the waterfall in all its glory. But we got a bit fooled. We should have gone on the left side, not the rightvelik nasmehzadrega. Oh well. It was still great. We descend. Another approx. 45 min to the cable car awaits us.
At the end we went to see the memorial park, paid tribute to the legend of Slovenian alpinism Tomaž Humar. And others.

It was a gloomy day, we were not at great heights, but the main thing that counts is the nicely spent afternoon in places that have something to offernasmehmežikanje. I recommend.

A few pics for a taste.

"When spruces whisper", I wrote years ago about the path to Orglice. Today too they whispered their stories as the wind played in their crowns. Underfoot autumn leaves rustled…

Decision where to go, when early morning first sun rays shone, was not difficult at all. After heavy rain Kamniška Bistrica is always beautiful, water flows from under almost every rock. Path to Orglice waterfall nicest in autumn (at least for me) and after rain always full of water.
I parked at the house in Kamniška Bistrica, walked back to the start, thus extending the trip a little, because the path to the waterfall (and back) otherwise passes too quickly. The waterfall is really full of water these days, there is plenty along the path too, of course it is a bit harder to cross the stream bed if you want a bit higher to the waterfall. nasmeh

On the return I walked to the first bridge over the torrent, where it is nice to listen to the roaring water on the bench… and while driving home, I thought it was a pity I hadn't come by bike. The road to Kamniška Bistrica is so nicely autumn-colored and I could stop at every bend. velik nasmeh

Conditions, nothing special to write. Autumnal. mežikanje

Yesterday I went to check if there was any water in the Orglice waterfall. There was some, a mare's trickle, as it can be called. But the path to Orglice saddened me, as the path has become a real desert due to clear-cuts in several places. All the time I wondered if it was really necessary to cut spruce by spruce where accessibility for work was still moderate? Is it forest protection according to the principle of preventing greater damage or profiteering with improper logging? Unfortunately I don't know the answer.... That's why the path back past the partisan hospital was so much nicer, a soft forest trail full of moss with sections of tiny spruces among beeches (probably afforested years ago). There you could still feel the real pulse of the forest.
At the start, on the sunny section of the path, spring flowers greet you.1

Today in family version to the waterfall.

Impossible to get parking at the classic starting point, so we were one of many who left higher/lower by the road. zadrega

Last time I was here with my daughter three years ago when she was still in the backpack... and I notice now a novelty: educational trail that leads all the way to the grave of the American pilot and remains of the hospital from WWII. In between lots of educational signs and markings so even a blind man finds itvelik nasmeh Praiseworthy!

At the waterfall there weren't even any people, but for the waterfall itself I expected it to be bigger after the rain. But no problem... as always so far, it's close to my heart. Water really tasty and cooold.
Back via standard variant. Mostly met families, groups with younger kids. Bustling full on.

Gondola operating, parking for Velika Planina full. Same in Kamnik Bistrica.

The start of the path towards Orglice looked more gloomy yesterday, as mists quickly came from somewhere and covered the views to all higher peaks. But that didn't spoil the trip, as we enriched it with a visit to the former hospital and thus made a circular tour. In between we looked a bit closer at the consequences of the landslide under Rzenik, which is also well visible from the path past the hospital. If the weather had been nicer, it would have been seen much better. But on the way back the sun already shone through and the mood improves in an instant. Reflections of water in Bela, flowers along the path and views of nature do their thing. Short trip, but worth repeatingnasmeh!

Sometimes not everything goes according to plan.
We wanted through Gamsov skret to Kogel, but didn't find the passage to the shorter secured part. Already at the start quite a lot of fallen trees.
Trail also hard to follow.
We turned back and went for a walk to Orglice Waterfall, and it was quite pleasant.
here we were supposed to meet1
