Saturday, 25.4.2020 Accustomed to starting hikes in pitch darkness, we waited until it got light, then headed towards Sveti Urh. In the sunny morning we took to the path and headed towards Orle past the memorial marker. Birdsong, dog on a leash and deep silence in the forest, it would be a sin to wish for more. Well, maybe that the municipal borders weren't closed and, even more so, that there was no virus at all. You know what, I whispered to the princess, today we won't talk about woes, at least not out loud. She looked at me curiously, then I followed the wagging tail and immersed myself in my thoughts, as the princess probably did in hers. The silence in the forest was similarly silent as on the path to the mountains, the birdsong similarly loud as there. When we reached the cross by the path I knew we had to turn right. I also knew we were heading straight into the village and close to the municipal border. Since there was nothing anywhere, no stake, no post, no sign marking the end of the City Municipality of Ljubljana, I squatted and whispered in the princess's ear what we would do. You know, I said, we will do as I used to do in the mountains at the state border. From sunrise to sunset I was allowed across, so we will also take a few steps across the municipal border, since we will surely return before sunset. The wise look and wagging tail let me know she understood, as she understood the hint to quietly sneak through the upper part of the village to the "inn" and from there return to Urh. Said, done. We quickly stepped forward, took some shots at the inn, continued even faster from there and casually made it back to the cross. A look at the navigation app on the phone showed we were "over" at most three hundred meters and altogether about fifteen minutes. I reassured the princess that police on the road for speeding subtract some percent from "too much" and if we also subtract some percent of the walked distance from that "over", we almost didn't sin. Then we returned on the same path to the starting point and from there satisfied due to the pleasant walk returned home. The path there and back is dry and dusty, need to step over a stream twice, no other peculiarities. Outbound we were alone and met only four, one already at the memorial marker. On the return we were also alone, but met dozens. That we avoided each other like the devil avoids the cross goes without saying. The walk pleased us, so we repeat it when the municipality is no longer closed and we want shady forest in summer heat. https://tubojan.blogspot.com/2020/04/orle.html
