Osolnik and Katarina (circular tour)

Weather for Osovnik today didn't hold even till noon as it first looked good.
This time I tackle Osovnik with road ride extension to Škofja Loka, there turn into Hrastnica valley. In first left turn of initially asphalt road, later mostly gravel I reach saddle above Močeradek (here crosses also forest path from Šk.Loka to Osovnik). Followed 500m descent to usual road from Sora, then short jump to 777m saddle of Rožnik farm. Started raining, me under roof with people from Sv.Mohor from mass. On return started raining more, so puddle to puddle on flat part over Medno. At home another shower. Approx 45km.

Today at 9am with MTB at 8.6°C and fog I head towards Sora to Osovnik.
Fog was so thick I'd need wipers on my glasses, as almost nothing was visible through it.A bit above Ločnica valley the fog finally gives way to the sun and the path to the top was very nice.The road from Ločnica isn't easy, it's steep in places and requires solid fitness for the climb.Before the cabin at Rožnik it gets foggy again, then steep finish to the church of St. Mohor at the top.Wonderful view with south wind forecasting weather deterioration.At Rožnik TK I met two mountain bikers from Lj. Matica, who were entering coordinates and tracks for legal regulation of MTB roads in Polhograjci, which they plan to arrange next year.Descent I did towards the road from Sora and again via Medno finished the tour.In Vižmarje I stop at classmate, quench thirst and enjoy some homegrown black grapes.Grace's daughter, mom from Bali has already turned into a real beauty.

In Ljubljana clear haze was blowing, in an hour and a half already rain was washing me at the top of Osovnik.
All that is part of nature, sometimes blesses you a bit from the sky.At the top more hikers, bikers just a couple pairs.View to Triglav beyond was good in hazy clearness, only above Osovnik clouds were gathering.In a moment it cooled with SE wind and sprinkled a bit.
On the way back I stacked a bit on the transverse road tin drainage gutter  .Combination of slightly fuller tires, wet sand on them and almost parallel crossing the gutter, it took me with front tire along it.No speed, so nice trip rewarded only with dirty clothes and some scratches already half healed.Since 1988 I don't remember when I fell so easily, though I ride down everything fast, half pro style.Super tour for Ljubljaners, LP!

Why fear the rain,
if it drips a bit down our neck.
These aren't pleasant feelings,
but happy moments pay for all.
I think we all know this well,
when we go to our beloved mountains.
