Ostrež

Last Thursday, 26. 4. we went towards Ostrež from the village of Renke. In the village Ravne there are lots of dogs, one (according to a villager) particularly dangerous and often released (warning to those who might want to take their own too). Strong wind was blowing on the way, but pleasant at the little church. Lp

hm, I'm tempted to go to Ostrež soon from Renke village. but it worries me that I read under conditions about potential dangers related to unleashed dog friends in Ravne village. had unpleasant encounters elsewhere, so asking what's the current situation on this.

thanks for help.

A few months ago nothing different re the mentioned dog friend, who is far from being one. At least not to people. Could kinda accept the dog's aggressive behavior, tho not provoked at all. But bothered me the nonchalant attitude and even smirking of owners who didn't even try to stop or call the dog when it barked and bristled rushing at my wife and me as we passed the house on the road. Luckily got away just with lots of fright. Dog is quite big and real beast ..

Today Tina and I during visit at Polšnik also went on classic loop from Preveg hamlet to Ostrež and back. We like returning to Ostrež, it's nice here for us and as Valvasor wrote, this hill is energetically rich, and not only this hill, whole area wild and wonderful.

Path at start crosses some fallen trees no big issues, other parts of loop Preveg - Ostrež - Preveg without peculiarities. More in photos. Lp

Today a bit in hills above Polšnik.
First family loop from Preveg village over Ostrež, then alone over Previški hrib and Špega to Sv. Matere Božje at Polšnik where we reunited. Really nice places here.
Scent of junipers, playful butterflies and bee buzzing.
