Ostrež and hike from chapel to chapel

Sunday, June 5 - Ostrež and hike from chapel to chapel; Ostrež has been tempting me for quite some time, but due to ignorance of from where and especially how the path runs all the way, I kept postponing; randomly found notice on this forum about the June traditional event in Polšnik "From chapel to chapel", including ascent to Ostrež, finally brought me to this peak; start - Polšnik village; a smaller group of hikers chose the longer and less steep path for the approach , and soon realized that it is indeed a pleasant soft, leaf-covered narrow forest path ascending gradually up to the last third of the peak, but due to night rain very wet and thus slippery in some parts (really don't recommend it in wet conditions); for descent I, rather than most, used the steep but safe wide "cart track" path (in my opinion there is no big difference in steepness, but time-wise it is much shorter); sadly no views due to cloudiness, but someone mentioned that Triglav is visible in good weather; of course I then continued on the 12 km extremely nicely routed path among green and colorful hillocks, a bit on meadows, a bit in forest, from chapel to chapel, from Polšnik, Ostrež, Stranski vrh and Glinjek back to Polšnik, moreover beautifully marked all the way with original signposts; truly idyllic, non-strenuous path worth multiple visits (blessed be the locals), and though there were many hikers this time, they dispersed along the entire trail; about the event organization only in "superlatives" - wonderful ; regards

Hribovc88, really a pity that you "missed it", you could have baptized those new Alpine shoes at Glinjek, where there was also holy mass, so they would carry you safely through the mountains ; lp

And there was Holy Mass too, oh don't stir up cravings, really a pity, but unfortunately it's like that, you can't be at every chicken procession p.s. - shoes still not baptized, because of the weather of course, which has been bitching for quite a while, but I'm not complaining, better than frying at 30,35°C If not earlier, I'll baptize them at Pentecost at Sv. Anton on Pohorje, or on Saturday at Ojstrec and Topic, but again the question arises if the weather will hold, for now it doesn't look promising

Yeah, in Zasavje it's always fun! And beautiful hills are at home here! Sure prealpine world but still nice!
