Ostrv 2126m

The ascent to Ostrv was quite a good choice before the weather worsened. I drove up a beautiful, newly gravelled and rolled road to the parking lot, where it's still a 20 min walk to Dolga Njiva. Then I headed horizontally across the ridge, towards Kisovec and Tegoški pl. After crossing a steep gully, I turned onto a barely visible path, which winds intermittently through spruce forest, later struggle with junipers and fallen spruces. Finally grass appears and I climbed further along the ridge to a path, which heads to the ridge towards Ostrv. The path to the summit is well visible, protections are in place. The view was fantastic, in pure clarity. Up top despite the valley basin, I put on softshell, because it was blowing quite strongly from the south. I fed the ptarmigans and myself with Mozzarella and tomato, then also apricot and peach. Descent was a chapter of its own. From the top no direct descent, there was only a visible sliding trace on a mixture of scree with grasses, which I rather avoid. Here not long ago slid down some young guy. I go around instead, if I don't want to become a member of the black chronicle. The path paid off, if not the shortest, then at least a narrow path, which gave support before steep grassy slopes. The path is quite overgrown, rocks on the path from winter and peat cracks, also lots of scree on grassy sections of the path, so step slow and checked. Below the path after some long traverses across side ridges and gullies finally joins the established path to Košutnikov Turn. Overall the route offers exceptional views, is varied, bold and solitary upon visiting. Košuta is passable along the upper ridge, off path dangerous even in dry, the path which I walked in wet strongly advise against. The pasture below echoed with ringing of cow bells. For interest let me add that in the Košuta ridge there are as many as 11 peaks which reach over 2000m, among them also unnamed.nasmeh

Interesting and beautiful peak. I was up there yesterday on the way between Šrbin and Košutnikov Turn. Interesting to me that some peaks are not marked, actually you don't even know exactly where the peak is, and also no electronic summit register for this peak.
