I'm wondering if anyone has the same problem and how to help oneself... Namely, after a few hours of walking my right foot starts to hurt, or rather the pad between the index toe and middle toe. The pain is burning and doesn't stop until I take off the shoe... after a long hike it usually hurts the next day too. The shoe doesn't matter, new, old, hard, soft, broken-in, sneakers, hiking boots... What could be the cause?

One of the causes is EMŠO. Maybe not for you. Foot massage with massage rollers or manually helps.

Of course I don't know the cause, but it mitigated such pain for me if I loosened the laces. I tie the laces tighter before going downhill. Now I've found a suitable shoe model. Although I don't have wide feet, I buy men's shoes. Now my soles don't burn anymore.

I've had the same problem for a long time (so not an EMŠO problem ; some mentioned calcifications on toe bones). It helps to take off the shoes on the trail, cool the feet and air out the shoes.

For these issues socks can also be the cause. You can have the best shoes; if the socks aren't good, there can be problems.

The same happened to me a few months ago, nothing hurt, in that time I walked 800 km/32 days, no problems, slowly pains appeared when walking, I walk every day, started soaking feet in salt water and using cream for thickened skin, it helps a bit, but it doesn't go away, for now it's tolerable

Radagremvhribe, your problems are the result of tired feet and overdoing it. In this case the best is massage and rest, otherwise pains with lots of walking are normal.
