Starting point for the hike was at Laghetti di Timau lake, where cross-country ski tracks are groomed in winter. At the lakelet I found an unmarked trail to the main road and beyond it the marked path, first signposts there. Along a comfortable mulattiera I soon reached the Roner hut and from there continued to Palgrande di sotto pasture. Short break there, then up the unmarked (black) trail steeply to Passo Cavallo saddle. A bit of sightseeing, then back the same path to the pasture, as continuing in the shade and on locally icy trail didn't appeal to me. From the lower pasture continued to the upper one, meanwhile "admiring" Monte Tisidor, a two-thousander neighboring Crete di Timau. To the upper pasture Palgrande di sopra wasn't far, from there I already saw the peak, which I reached over rocks and scree, since I could hardly distinguish the pathlet from cow trails, too much of both. On the summit splendid views, excellent snack and also dog company, which I gladly bribed with a piece of cheese. Descent to the lower pasture on the same path, then on another to Roner hut and again on the familiar to the lake or car. I knew the outing would be pleasant, but all together exceeded expectations.
