Hi everyone Has anyone ridden a bike along Parenzana recently, on the Croatian part of the trail, from Sečovlje onwards? I'm interested if the path is marked and what condition the track is in.. The first part from our border into Croatia is very bad, I hope it's better afterwards. Thanks for info, lp

PARENZANA On Monday early morning we drive to Ankaran. There we change means of transport, and head to Dekani, where we join the former railway track. I won't describe details of the old railway line, as Bojan already did. Uphill riding starts on the Croatian side. During our cycling there was less mud - puddles, but grass grew over knees. Some places already started mowing. First night we slept at farm tourism "Toni" in Brkač village. Second morning to continue the path, I first had to inflate the inner tube. Before descent to Poreč we also saw the underground cave in Nova vas. In Poreč short swim followed (water excellent for refreshment) Then straight by road to Novigrad, Umag to Savudrija, where we overnighted again. Next day, above Sečovlje we return to Parenzana. In Portorož we turn to Piran, where another swim followed, then again to Parenzana and along it to Muggia in Italy. Ride around Debeleg rt to Ankaran, where cycling ended. The trail is quite well marked, maybe could have more fine gravel in places, less grass and coarse stones. For good cycling mountain bike is needed.

Bravo Janez! I see you had great weather. I'm sure you two could conquer this path on foot too. Ah, is entry to the cave free?

Hello Bojan. Entry to the cave is guided, lasts 40 min, price for adults is 60 Kuna. Regarding hiking it wouldn't be a problem, just missing elevation. But we'll hike enough in July on E-6. This year we start at Nordkapp, then to the triple border Norway, Sweden, Finland, where in Kilpisjärvi village E-6 officially starts and we continue from north to south of Finland until end of vacation. Regards.
