We received info via the manager of Corsi hut - Mr Cristiano - that path 629 is impassable on the section between Brunner hut to the junction with path 650 due to huge rockfall as it tore off part of the safety rope too. PD CAI Tarvisio.

Yesterday I went on the Saxon King path to Krniska Spica past Brunner. The path is basically OK, here and there you need to cross a fallen tree. It reminded me a bit of the path to Creto Grauzario past the bivouac. At Corsi I lay a bit among the flowers, in the wall there were two ropes but I couldn't find them. Towards Krniska Skrbina I observed a larger herd of chamois. Towards the summit no major issues. Almost no pegs but abundance of cairns. I descended to Brunner. I expected worse heat but on King always in shade, around 11 clouds formed. At Corsi much less water than last year mid-August, maybe due to that rain.

Then I let myself be misled by Mašer and his guide, where for Cima del Vallone he strictly uses the name Krniška špica.

The respected gentlemen—Tuma, Kugy, Frischauf, Kocbek, Mihelič, etc.—invested too much effort in naming mountains to neglect their work.

Exactly so, I have almost everything Kugy wrote at home, from Tuma's Imenoslovje, to Our Alpinism and lots more literature. The named men really deserve respect and many others.

That's exactly why, since Tuma mentions two Krniški Peaks and adds an extra "locator" when naming the peaks at the "Trbiški and Rabeljski end" of Krniške Saddle, in my humble opinion it doesn't harm the good name of our geographers and mountaineers at all, but it benefits today's Slovenian hiker (Italian or German names are arranged differently) with proper orientation, I myself support the newer form of names... nasmeh
