On one of our previous outings we spotted signs for an unknown path of 23,000 steps. Some homework roughly revealed its course and a week later we added it to discovering local places  .
We started at the hut on Svetina, where there's plenty of parking space. We followed the signs to the already known village Svetine. It has two churches and is also the final resting place of world traveler Alma Karlin. At the cemetery you need to take the lower left path, which leads to an old house and unfinished building. There with a lot of luck you spot one of the signs for the 23,000 steps path on a tree. We continued slightly left downhill, all the way to the junction on the forest cart track. This leads to the village Sveti dol and to the crossroads at its end. We turned sharply left and continued on the local road all the way to the village Javornik. The path joins hiking markers that lead to the hut on Svetina and the end of our loop.
The path has seen better times. Actually the markings are too few, poorly visible or eaten by time. Passages are never difficult, if you just know which direction to take. Markings are currently only at a few points, just enough to blow away doubts. You see just enough interesting to make it worth walking, especially if you add it to a visit to Svetine or some bigger adventure.
