Paths along the Karst edge

Primorska invited with sunshine and autumn colors. We walked a section of the edge from Cola to Kovk and descended to the village of Gozd. We intended to go to Sinji vrh, but so much happened along the way that we were too late. With the clock change, the day also shortened significantly.

Knowledge of places and geography is like that, though

The day still has 24 hours, even on Gori.

Yes, on the Karst we wouldn't shower, because there's no water, except deep in the caves.

Thanks. I accept your scolding or lesson or whatever anyone had in mind. We walked along the Edge. It was nice and pleasant for us, even though the Edge wasn't Karst. I would also correct the mistake in the title, but I don't know how? @mirank 2.11.2011 Next time I'll try harder and won't bother you anymore with incorrect use of geographical names. The irony is even greater because geography was always my favorite subject. But apparently I didn't learn much about the Karst and the Edge. I'll correct the mistake and not repeat it. @pohodnik11 2.11.2011 Thanks to you too for the well-intentioned lesson.

@atoamac 2.11.2011 Yes, you're right. The day still has 24 hours. But, in common usage there's the expression "the day is shorter" and then we mean it gets dark earlier.

The Karst edge with its sumac colors is indescribably beautiful at this time. Don't miss this heaven on earth. Photos are from the path from Sočerga to the overhangs at the border.

Sunday, 15.3.2020 On the eighth of this month I was returning from a trip in my beloved Carnic Alps, listening to the radio and pondering the pandemic which was just knocking on our doors then. I didn't think the world would turn upside down here too in a few days. No other way than to adapt to the situation, so princess and I quickly made a list of outings suitable for the moment. We went on one of them today and had a really nice time. We started in Hrastovlje, walked from there to Podpeč, went there to the defensive tower above the village and a bit higher, then soon behind the railway track continued on the road instead of footpath. I wanted a circular tour, so took some road walking into account, princess too. We circled Jampršnik and then climbed to it from behind, then continued the outing on footpath to where we went "our way" in the morning. A bit further we greeted the little horses on pasture second time, then turned to road again and returned to Podpeč on it. Again because of circling, what else. To Hrastovlje wasn't far and pleasant outing soon ended. Although our path didn't seem particularly long to me, time and elevation measured, navigation app showed we did over seven hundred meters ascent in five hours and almost fifteen kilometers length. Didn't find asparagus along the path, locals said that something small can already be found. Might be for that and not only that we'll go to those parts again soon. http://tubojan.blogspot.com/2020/03/hrastovlje-vrh-stene-jamprsnik.html
