How much time did you take to Pecol or does anyone know km from Sella Nevea to Pecol.

Some pics from two weeks ago walking plateau under Montaz aka Police (Altipiano di Montasio) official name. Watching marmots quick above Pecol pasture blind thru pastures to junction paths from Pecol and Rif. Brazza to Vrh Strmali onward Montaz.
Continued to Rif. Brazza then parking. Fewer people than expected, loudest from sunny Alps side.

Morning mists over Soča, on Krn the first morning rays have not yet shone.

Playful marmots quickly hid upon our approach, so they are photographed from a distance.

The notch of Vrh Strmali (Forca dei Disteis) looks much closer than it actually is (at least an hour's walk to it)

Pekol pasture I like more year by year already planning new tour. Hope winter doesn't overtake me. Last time fire on Strma peč confused my plans.

Nice area for ski touring. Starting point Sella Nevea, then up the road towards Rif. Brazza and further under the cliffs of Špik Hude police.... More at: link

Conditions super, plenty of snow, and really above Pecol there are huge slopes where you can ski nicely.
