Pekol Pasture - Reklanska Valley

Today I went to walk a path that was at least to me unknown from pasture Pekol into Reklanska valley to the settlement Piani di La. The path is marked - 622. It runs along a pleasant mulattiera quite nicely with numerous zigzags. In places it is already collapsing. In between there are also secured sections with cables. We descend a full 900 m of altitude. Roughly on the one-third or half of the path downhill we hear murmuring of water from all sides. This is the source of the mountain stream Rio Montasio. This source forms numerous beautiful waterfalls; water crawls over smooth rocks - looks nice. This happens deep below the mulattiera - we can't get close. Above the village the stream falls in a high waterfall into the valley. The village evokes typical Friulian villages, where houses are tightly together or even joined. Through these cobbled alleys you can go through the village only on foot. People are rare - more houses are abandoned and decaying. Most of them owners who left with stomach for bread around the world have turned into holiday cottages. I saw only old people who greeted friendly.

The path is not unknown; it is quite frequently used by cyclists, especially Italians and Austrians and also Slovenes ride quite a bit on this path. I did it this year too .... On the path towards Sella you have a nice waterfall by the road ..

For cyclists I know. There were even some tapes that should remain after some race this year. Even on some dangerous section additionally warned. No bike tracks noticed this time. That day the path was lonely except for me. If you go in spring from Trbiž towards pasture Pekol along the road you see quite a few nice waterfalls. I stopped and watched them years ago. High is also that one at Rablj somehow on the other side opposite Kraljevi špici.

Yesterday we Škofja Loka Monday retirees went to Montaževa high mountain plateau. By vehicle taken to pasture Pekol. Then over pastures descended to Sella Nevea. Only last part steep and scree. Had wonderful weather. Rewarded with great views of Poliske Špike and our end.
