Long ago, when we and the gang still did a lot of ski touring in AUT, I usually called some inn near the starting point to ask how the roads and ski conditions were; the info was usually quite accurate and very welcome. Here you have phone and mail, they would almost have to know what conditions they have and how far you can drive:
