I have one question... maybe someone knows if wild thyme is already growing on Velika Planina or is it still too early for that?

Wild thyme grows approximately two months, but it depends on the altitude. Currently it is found low, under 500 m a.s.l.; we picked it a week ago on Menina Planina, and if you come next week, you can pick arnica flowers and strawberries too. Come, you won't regret it.

Just a warning: arnica is a protected Slovenian flower. It must not be picked, nor should seedlings be uprooted. Otherwise, I haven't seen anyone having it in the garden yet. One needs to check Slovenian protected plants and options for permitted picking.

I don't see the reason why we pick so much arnica, since when soaked it must not be used for drinking, because for consumption it's poisonous; if you soak some flowers in schnapps, then even a liter of tincture you don't use up that fast, since you can have it for several years.

This year you'll find wild thyme only above 1500 meters above sea level.
