In the Karawanks foothills, this quite sandy world, I always gaze again. So Borovje and Planica have been on the list of desired peaks for quite some time, since I first heard about them and looked at the steep, winding narrow sandy path past rocky outcrops, which is supposed to be a bit exposed to risk. Stanko Klinar mentions both peaks as the vanguard of Kepa, but of quite secondary importance and does not recommend visiting them. So in order, first right, then left. So first Borovje, which gains prominence with the mighty cross rising right on its edge, as it also allows a view right into the heart of the Julians, which are still under snow cover at this time. You can look across all three valleys that lead to the highest. When you turn around, your eye lingers on Kepa, which is certainly the queen of this trip, as views stick to it all along the path, attractive at every step. But there was no sitting long on Borovje, the thought of what the further path can offer was stronger and beckoned further. And indeed the path to Planica was even more attractive, a bit down and a bit up, then across under the ridge, and along the ridge, that you marvel at how cleverly and scenic it is routed. And full of pink wreaths along the path, so you didn't know what to admire more, the fragrant scents or the wonderful views opening above the path, best both . If I had to choose just one peak, I would unhesitatingly choose Planica, because not only is the path leading to it beautiful, but the summit itself delights, which is just spacious enough for sitting and admiring. After the tour, also a visit to the via ferrata in Mojstrana, so that the beer at Aljaž is more deserved .
