Planika Hut - circular trail from Krma

Tomorrow we plan to go to the mountains with friends. I hope the weather will be favorable because I myself don't know what conditions are forecasted, from rain to sun etc....
I would like to take them from Krma to the Planika Hut and then back via another path to Vodnik Hut and back to the valley...I haven't been on this path myself and I'm wondering if you recommend any other perhaps nicer circular path in this area with start and end point in Krma valley..maybe to Stanič Hut and back...I'll be grateful for any advice....thank you all and good luck and nice moments in the mountains...

There is a variant where at Vodnik hut you climb to Bohinj saddle and then descend to Krma. You have the chance to meet marmots (without chocolate and paper). I haven't walked there lately, so I don't know the condition on the descent from the saddle.

Thank you both for the reply. The pictures are also wonderful. I was thinking of going say to Planika or Stanič hut or Vodnik hut and then back via another path. Is there any connection between Planika Hut say and Stanič hut or is there a connection between these three huts so we don't have to return the same way? Thanks.

I looked a bit. It can be wonderful also from Krma to Vodnik hut then from Vodnik to Planika Hut and back down via another path to Krma.....
Is the path from Vodnik hut to Planika Hut difficult? I see there are some fixed cables and wires...I think it will be ok anyway because hard to imagine...thanks...

the path is without problems passable for everyone. Just a little above Vodnik there are carved steps and next to them is a fixed cable (railing by the steps). From Horse saddle to Planika except "gravel" no problems. This last section of the path was used also by porters with horses who supplied Planika. The connection between Planika and Kredarica can be problematic for those unaccustomed to fixed cables and exposure. If that passage worries you, you can descend back to the saddle (40min) and then climb again to Kredarica (1h) from Kredarica to Stanič you shouldn't have special problems either. Stanič - Krma via Zg. Krma again poz, which is not problematic just a bit long. Safe steps and even nicer weather. And also on the alpine pasture there is drinking water.

On the path from Planika hut towards Kredarica there are still some small snowfields. In the morning the snow is still very hard and don't go on the path without ice axe. With every hour towards noon the snow softens, but take the path seriously. With my son Jošt we were on Triglav these days and on the above mentioned path, which "serajko" also describes, we learned the rules of safe and proper crossing of snowfields even in summer. Good luck "Castro", otherwise the path you're asking about is easy! LP Andrej
