Planina Osredek at Pokovša

Today due to bad weather towards planina Osredek via the usual upper path, back to Pokovša - that's the rocky section of the path, whose rocks we can see even from the valley left of the pasture. I start already in Stiška vas at Škerjančev and then along asphalt to the forest road above Ambrož. Along this forest road about half an hour to the end of that road and then downhill. Here left above the pasture to Kamniški vrh, right to the pasture. That right one soon splits and leads us right into the valley. It goes quite steeply downhill or steeply uphill if coming from below. Grasses are dry, high - careful. The path is marked, but rarely anyone comes here. After half an hour we're in the real mountain world - through the rocks two wire ropes safely guide us. When we cross that rock we descend into the world of streams and wild garlic. Then we can turn to Ambrož summit, where there's a sign for this path or descend to the hamlet Jagodci and from there past farm tourism Pr Doverju back to the car.

Again, I decided to do a morning hike from Ambrož over Pokavše to planina Osredek. The reverse I already did via the winding paths. This time I went on this path for the first time. Above Kmečki turism Pr. Florjan we turn onto the forest road that runs along the fenced pasture. In the forest at the spring we must turn left - not specially marked and we will reach Pokavše by road. I of course turned right to Klemenčevo. At the scree along the safety fence of the pasture I climbed to the top of the pasture. That's more pathless than an unmarked path - but quite steep. At the top of the pasture we jump over the fence and straight up join the path that leads to Pokavše. The path is marked. But in places harder to follow. Then follows the descent into the rocks of Pokavše, where we taste the real mountain climate. The most exposed spots are secured with cables. To planina Osredek I didn't reach today, next time!

Above the farm tourism a sign directs us to Pokavše.

So we walk along the fenced pasture for quite some time.

When we reach the intake we must go left on the road and reach Pokavše.

But I turned the wrong way - it's marked a bit awkwardly.

I even turned onto some nice pasture with a pond and hunting blind.

So I turned onto Klemenčevo and then along the pasture fence reached the top of the pasture above Klemenčevo.

There on the other side in the middle I even noticed a flock of sheep.

I descended through the forest to Pokavše.

This is already the Pokavše gorge it must have been strange-rocky scree.

Safety is also provided-we have three sections of steel cables.

, locals call the rocky part also Kamnahka... NICE!

Rokovnjačica, I've fixed those 'a`s, thanks! It's already the third year I'm also botanically surveying Kamniški vrh and surroundings. Trying to find all Alenka's flowers. Planina Osredek is botanically interesting too. In about a week going to Kamniški vrh from the other side from Grohata direction. Greetings.

Velkavrh I think you're mistaken. According to the guidebook Pokovše is the steep slope of Kržišče, that's above the path Ambrož-pl. Osredek. What you describe is the path over Jagoščev rob. That path was overgrown a few years ago, now it's cleared and newly marked, in places even mowed. There are really a lot of marks now, the path is well visible. Just missing hikers to discover it.

On the lower path from Ambrož direction to Planina Osredek it would be necessary to saw through some fallen beeches, otherwise the path without special features. On the pasture there are mowed paths, otherwise it's heavily overgrown. We continued to the end of Korošica and up to Kriška planina and Pokovše along, on some sections, hard to follow paths.

Today a bit wandering to Planina Osredek. Actually I set off without a goal and said to myself I'll get where I get, along the way trying to shed burdens from the valley nasmeh

Start in Klemenčev kot first (judging by empty parking). First I head towards Slevška rož, but just before it I change my mind and decide to go to neighboring Planjava along the rib that establishes above the transverse path crossing its steep slopes. From there I continue along the ridge and decide to check the upper path towards Kriška planina. When I reach the junction I'm almost pulling out crampons to venture along the S slope of Kržišče towards the pasture, but I change my mind assessing the steepness, slope and hard snow. From here onward there's a visible poorer old track, so I'd be traversing on icy crust and packed snow. Instead of continuing that way I decide to traverse towards Leše and descend to Pl. Osredek and have breakfast there. On this part of the path two very large avalanches surprised me a lot, which I didn't expect. Caution is really not superfluous. It made me think about how it is on the path I didn't choose. In the end the tour gave me what I needed despite not knowing exactly where I was going mežikanje

After a pleasant rest at Planina Osredek back transversely under Planjava and steeply down the scree to Korošica waterfalls and back to the car. Met 3 people at the parking velik nasmeh

Last Friday my grandson and I visited planina Osredek. We started on foot from the village Stiška vas - from Škerjančev. To the junction for the pasture we unfortunately have to go above Ambružarjev to the bend also on asphalt. Here hikers usually leave vehicles. The forest road takes us to the marked path, which at the end of the forest road turns left, right a wide road leads to the pastures, which they made new about a year ago. Down we went by road, back by the marked nice path. The pasture is quite overgrown. Spring offers cold water. No one here - sit on the bench and enjoy.
