19.11.2021. You're never too old to set another goal. Or dream new dreams. LEVIS. Yes, Friday was perfect for our pathless tour from Lepena. When you think Kaluder will be postponed to next year, dreams come true. Marijan and Renato were up there end of October this year. They went from Vrsnik. My wish was to go there under Velika Baba. We didn't know if the path was still traceable. Under the summit it was visible. From the upper junction for Baba where we went, no more path. Brushwood. The tar will stick to us probably for a few days. At least the smell of brush. Searching for passages was quite interesting. We were most worried about the scree, because we didn't know if it could be crossed. If not possible, we would go the lower path. But it was possible. On the summit after five and a half hours of walking, really nice. Even more interesting was the pathless descent. We didn't go around on the faintly visible path because of snow. The decision to go directly down the grass was ok. Carefully. Below we found the path that lower joins the one to Baba. And on the known path to Lepena. We met no one. Except chamois and a roe deer. 16 km walked and about 1400m ascent.

there was quite a lot of scree on the path.

without GPS it's really not walkable here.

When you're on these paths for the first time, where few people walk.

And we go straight down instead of around.

22.06.2022. From this side of the barrier for Čisti Vrh we went. Over the little bridge. And then along the traceable path past the hunting hut and planina za Črnim vrhom. Where nettles growing between the rocks stung me properly. But at least no rheumatism for a while. Nice weather wasn't exactly favorable to us. Sometimes forecasters are wrong, because a little after twelve, just when we were on the summit for a while, it started raining. We had that descent on steep wet grass. Quite demanding. But we're used to it. The ascent went fine for us. We tackled the steep part a bit more to the left to avoid brush. At the hunting hut on return it stopped raining and we packed away wet clothes. Kaluder is nice, even not in sun. We didn't meet almost anyone, if we disregard ticks that were even on the summit. On return we stop by Soča and Renato and I swim. In not exactly warm water. Depends on the person.

Yesterday I completed my trilogy with a circular path Vas na Skali - Pl. za Skalo - Pl. za Črnim vrhom - Kaluder - V. Baba - Lanževica - Oslova škrbina - Pl. za Skalo - Vas na Skali.
Nice path, all-day solitude, ascent to Kaluder needs to be hit right, ridge to V. Baba not as shaggy as it looks, continuation is enjoyment. jezik

Yesterday pathless beautiful tour from Pod Zjabci to the saddle between Lanževica and Velika Baba. After six hours walking on Velika Baba. Continuation along very demanding ridge to Kaluder. And descent on our known path from Kaluder to start.

(24.5. 2024) Sometimes golden glow of morning dawn spills between wounded rocks - I would go further. (Srečko Kosovel) Friday was yesterday. We went anyway, even though afternoon weather forecast wasn't good. On another path. Past abandoned timber workers' houses. Črč they call this place. We walk along stream for a while. Path is easy to follow to planina behind Črni Vrh. Continue more to the right to saddle. Looking for passages to Kaluder summit. Ridge is too bushy. Find lower sawn bushes. Who knows from when? Cross snowfield. Then some more walking to top. Clouds started gathering. Descend other side. On somewhat longer path. Over Vovenk. Or rather by navigation. And after eleven hours walking we end our long tour. Descent was demanding in wet grass. Easier was walking on scree. It measured 13 km and 1480 elevation gain.
