Snowshoers from PD Medvode today from Jesenice to Škrbina, then to Planski vrh and to Obranca, descent to Kočna. Whoever wants nice trodden paths while they last, go up. We ensured the track was really nice, as there were enough of us. Lots of snow from the Jesenice side, the first sank knee-deep, in places even higher. Few views and sun, but the tour is interesting, the little-visited Mežakla hides nice spots. Will return when it's bare. First visit deserves a 5, like the friendly hosts at Obranca who offered tea.

Great, Lidija! I believe you had a nice time! Right, we can be proud of our Mežakla, which some resent for the shade cooling Jesenice?.. eek

...It would be a shame if such an opportunity slipped away. Even just to Špica. Lidija made a super track. I've tracked to the transmitter many times, it's tiring. Foggy tour, snow falling. So what. For farewell, the sun peeked from behind the clouds, but not for long. You walk, let your imagination free and admire nature's artworks along the path created by trees and snow. That's interesting too. Quickly back in the valley. Next from Kočna. Hope snow doesn't cover all tracks smile

I'm glad we weren't the only ones enjoying it, Majda. True, Heinz, I'll definitely come to this corner again, once when it's springlike. There's something to see, it's beautiful and interesting. And they say, despite that, quite solitary. nasmeh

...I go up there many times, but very, very rarely meet anyone. And that's the charm of Mežakla, and there are still a few such paths around Jesenice.. nasmeh

Yes, I also go there just because of the solitude preferably. Some paths that can't be found up here are even more secluded. You rest your soul.

Today I went from Kočna past the monument to planina Obranica. After I soaked in the beautiful views, I continued to Planski vrh, peeked at the north side and stopped on the way back at Snežna jama. Return to Obranica and descent past Baba to Kočna. The path from the monument is really more suitable for ascent, especially since it's still wet in places, otherwise spring-warm and very nice.
