Plenšak's Waterfalls

Right after visiting the Lomski slap above Železniki, we thought of also visiting the Plenšak waterfalls, which we learned about at about the same time. But you don't learn much about them, you don't find them on the list of waterfalls, no descriptions. I found only one with a couple of pictures, that's how I even learned they exist, they're also marked on one map. Just enough of everything to make our fingers or feet itch, as we like to saynasmeh.

We didn't even know if we'd find the waterfalls, even less hoped we'd find the passages further to Prtovča. But we succeeded in that too and thus made a nice circular tour. We returned on the marked path that we reached right before the last houses in the village and then headed towards Jesenovec, where we had the starting point, which is a stone's throw further from Železniki. This path was also something I walked for the first timenasmeh.

So we started at the starting point Jesenovec, where we first viewed the outflow of the torrent stream Plenšak into the Selška Sora, then proceeded along it on the gravel road, which soon loses the asphalt surface, further up the valley. The valley was becoming more and more closed, we caught the sun only when we were ascending from it towards Prtovča. Well, that's also an interesting fact, half of all the water used in Železniki flows through this stream, so it's extremely important, on the right side you pass the water reservoir quite soon. Already while walking on the gravel road, we were surprised by beautiful views into the water, as the stream is extremely lively. Well, in the past it was sometimes even too much, especially in the floods of 2007, when the old marked path through the valley to Prtovča was finally destroyed. That it existed, we convinced ourselves also at that moment when we spotted a quite faded marking. We also found some quite abandoned sections of the path, which however came in handy for us in one partnasmeh.

But when the gravel road ended, we stepped into a world without paths, mysterious wilderness and a murmuring stream that showed us the direction. So dense vegetation, mossy passages, sometimes we even had to cross the stream. But when we reached the confluence of two equal streams, we knew where we actually were along the path length, because there is the western waterfall on the left stream, the eastern on the right. First we headed right and relatively soon spotted the whiteness that shone through the green trees. But to the waterfall we had to climb quite a steep slope, but it was worth it. The waterfall is actually in two stages, the upper one much steeper. Height supposedly around 10 m.
Then we headed also towards the left waterfall and admired it for quite some time too, from there we then searched for the exit from the valley towards Prtovča.
We were really happy that our planned adventure succeeded, and we'd repeat it too, just maybe at a time when the valley is less green and in the later part of the day, so that it would also be bathed in sunlightnasmeh.
