Plitvice Lakes

I know that this question doesn't really fit into mountaineering, but nevertheless, if anyone has been to Plitvice, I'm interested in how long the visit takes and a short description (in terms of how much walking, if there's any bus or boat ride etc.). Thanks in advance for answers.

Plitvice Lakes: Bus takes you to the starting point, then two options, either full loop around, or partial and return by boat to where bus left you. We walked 3 hours total, did full loop (short stops). Interesting due to terraced (CaCO3) formations (tufa-Tufa is highly porous, light and spongy carbonate rock forming in and by water.), karst landscapes, in short hydrogeological and geological beauties Croats call tufa rock sedra. Sadly at trip's end I realized: see one, seen all, big crowds (weather dependent). Definitely worth seeing if never been.

I was at Plitvice recently and took my time. Arrived afternoon, saw lower falls. Path not strenuous at all, more walk. Can take boat (free, like little train), better walk whole path ~2.5 hrs.
Next morning hurried, at entrance at 8:00, to upper lakes more picturesque. Great, no crowds to highest lake 10:30. Back by train or foot. So if going, take time, beautiful, start early as possible. By 11am crowded.

31.5...Lately I've been traveling more than mountain hiking and visited Plitvice National Park. Wanted this long time, fulfilled with Alpetour transport. Wonderful, stand and admire nature beauties. Walk pretty bridges and enjoy.. Uploaded many pics for those not been or can't visit these nice places. nasmeh
