Yesterday we decided to visit Podrta gora. We started the trail at the lower station of the Vogel cable car. We went a good two km along Žagarjev graben, then in the first steeper slope turned onto a small hunter's path. It's a classic hunter's path, which is quite overgrown and hard to pass especially at the beginning. So I won't describe the path, because there's a much easier approach via Komna. At the pasture behind Migovec we joined the path coming from Komna heading to Vogel or the saddle below Škrbina. At Sedlo Škrbina we crossed to the Primorska side and headed to the southern side of Podrta gora. At the grassy ledge we left the path and headed straight to the top of Podrta gora. Obviously everyone finds passages their own way, as there's no path up there. There's some easy scrambling and some scree on rocky ledges. So definitely be careful! At the top there's a stamp valid for Bohinjsko planinsko pot. Usually we run into clouds here sooner or later, but this time it was completely clear all the time . Really nice views. We returned to the Škrbina _ Tolminski Kuk path and along the way "conquered" the eastern neighbor Vrh Konte. Again descent to the saddle below Škrbina and back toward the pasture behind Migovec. There then again onto the hunter's path toward Žagarjev graben. Pictures here: http://www.petersfoto.si

Podrta gora - conditions 11.6.2017 We did the route as a ridge traverse in the direction: Škrbina - Vrh Konte - Podrta gora - Mali vrh and below it descended to the marked mountain path leading along the southern slopes of these peaks. The ridge traverse is very demanding, especially descending from Vrh Konte and from Podrta gora, quite crumbly, broken, lots of loose scree, at some spots - sticking to the ridge line, also quite airy. From Vrh Konte to the col on the ridge between Vrh Konte and Podrta gora, rope use is almost mandatory (20m suffices), since we didn't see other aids, you need to bring an auxiliary rope for slings or some peg. Easier access - as described in the previous post, is of course simpler, but even this approach to the top of Podrta gora is still quite demanding for the average hiker.

During a short break at Dom na Komni, Nessy and I climbed via pl. Govnjač and pl. Za Migovcem to Škrbina, from there toward Podrta gora, where we went straight up from the marked path through grass and then over scree-covered ledges. Especially during the descent, great caution is needed. We descended below Mali and Zeleni vrh and continued to Tolminski Kuk, where we had a half-hour break. From Kuk to Planja saddle, from there pathless to pl. Govnjač and back to the hut. Good news - the marked shortcut to pl. Govnjač is arranged, brush cut, so descent was pure luxury The tour itself super, sunny and slightly windy, above all very solitary, as we met only a herd of 30-40 chamois all day

Hi. Wondering if there's any expert of these areas who knows if on the picture the right peak marked RED is Vrh Konte, the left marked YELLOW is Podrta gora? Taken from below Škrbina plate. Thanks in advance

I think it's correctly marked on the picture. From Škrbina follow the path that goes under Vrh Konte. Next is Podrta gora (path along slopes goes about 100m below the summit). The path then turns 90° SW direction toward Zeleni vrh behind Podrta gora slopes.

You can make a loop under these peaks. If you go from Tolminske Ravne to Vrh nad Škrbino and then under these peaks to Tolminski Kuk. And descend to Tolminske Ravne.

Of course, the path is marked. Only from Tolminski Kuk toward T. Migovca it's not marked.

Both peaks are there. The path runs below under these peaks. I remember we went to Zeleni vrh, which is just before you reach Tolminski Kuk. Podrta gora didn't tempt us. Maybe some other time. In June there are lots of flowers there.

I agree with Miran, the right one is Vrh nad Škrbino, the left one is Vrh Konte (on Darinka's first photo).

From W to E (behind Tolminski Kuk) are Zeleni vrh, Podrta gora, Vrh Konte and Vrh nad škrbino. But Vrh Konte is much less pronounced, as it is 30-40m lower, the others are all about the same height. The one on the right in the picture is Vrh nad škrbino. In 2020 I went over the whole ridge, Podrta gora is really much more crumbly.

Between Zeleni vrh and Podrta gora there is also Mali vrh, 2015m. From it there is a nice passage from the west to Podrta gora.

23.7.2024 Early start from the village Čadrg, as rain was forecast for the afternoon. Planned route: Planina Kal - Tolminski Kuk - Zeleni vrh - Podrta gora - Škrbina saddle - return under the eastern slopes of Tolminski Migovec to the Na Rešlju saddle and back to the start, where lunch was waiting for me. The morning forecast held perfectly and I was rewarded with great weather. There was no living soul on the whole route and I had the entire ridge to myself . Only on the way back (around 11:00) did I meet three female hikers heading up from the direction of Raven towards Škrbina. I hope it didn't catch them, as rain did come later. In the morning it was very windy on top of Tolminski Kuk, later on Podrta gora it was calm. First time on Podrta gora. First to the western Mali vrh, then from the saddle I continued to the south side under the rocks looking for a passage up. And I missed it the first time - I came out on the ridge too far left, right in front of that smooth plateau that many climb over if they take the ridge approach. As an overconfident layman, I didn't want to climb over it myself and instead bypassed the ridge on the north side back to the saddle and again to the south side to look for the passage to the summit. Well, the second time I already roughly saw where I was and found a relatively comfortable passage to the top of Podrta gora. There are no major peculiarities on the ascent, say. There are lots of solid holds, but you have to be constantly careful with loose rocks and scree on the ledges. I stayed a long time on the summit - sunbathing at ideal temperature and no wind, and enjoying the stunning views of Lake Bohinj and everything around. On the descent, the most annoying for me was the scree slope between rocks and grass. I certainly wouldn't want to go there when there's more "traffic", as it's almost impossible not to dislodge some stone. Either during descent or crossing and looking for passages. I dislodged them 2x, and let's say I was careful... Or maybe not enough. But, as I said, luckily there was no living soul around Finally, the path through the bushes on the eastern side of Tolminski Migovec is a real botanical garden - a real treat towards the end of the tour.
