Podvolovjek: Brložnica gorge/Repov graben (waterfall)/Riherski graben (Cuc waterfall), Kal/Riherska jelka
The idea for today's tour was suggested by Pika. The weather forecast was, of course: rain/snow. We'll wander through gorges and check out waterfalls…super!!
We park at St. Anthony church (8:35) where a friendly dog joins us right as we step out of the car. Light snow is falling, the furry friend happily with us across the meadow to the gorge. Access is quite spiced (slippery, muddy, fallen trees, frozen...). We struggle a bit at first, but it seems our new friend already masters gorges…
Soon it's clear there'll be no dry feet. We're on the verge of falling multiple times. Rocks are slippery, moss coming off. We reach a spot with no choice but to go knee-deep in water. Pika takes her shoes off and wades. We climb the steep bank. Soon we realize we have a much harder and riskier option... After 1.5 hours we're out of the gorge with the dog. He climbed somewhere too and avoided...
Repov graben.
A stream flows from below Kunšperski vrh (1340 m) through Repov graben. In a hard-to-reach narrow it creates a good 20 m high two-tier waterfall. The waterfall is very prominent even in the dry season. It takes us more than an hour. Our own fault, we climb above the waterfall (see nothing..) then circle back (God knows where…) but we arrive alive and well to St. Anthony church. Dog too!
In the car (without dog.. ) to Riherski graben.
Next Cuc waterfall. Soon at the waterfall – nice!! Then our explorer spirit again..
Go above waterfall – again can't see much. Spot tracks in snow ahead. Opaaa…off exploring again. Follow tracks, notice "marks" on beeches. Pretty steep!! Debate starts, curiosity where they lead?? Map no answer.. Decide to go till we see where we end up. Becoming clear we'll reach below Rogatec/Lepenatka. That's what happened, Rogatec shows its steep face. On the way learn whose tracks (acquaintances). Spotting Kal/Rogatec decide on descent past Riherska jelka. Snow falling heavier, at 15:20 back to start, already covered in it.
Satisfied after the tour and discovery of "new" path from waterfall to Lepenatka/Rogatec. Nice trip!!!

Sometimes even the most predictable goals become something completely different. Today's trip was already like that. Some would call it "beating around the bush", but it was super for me  .

I thought it was the same dog that joined me once at hunting hut below Rogatec, but no. Nice tour, girls and boys, hope soon together somewhere.
