Hello!
On Monday I'm heading out with a friend on a two-day trip from Zadnjica to Stenar via Pogačnikov dom and back to stay overnight. Can you suggest a tour for the next day, maybe another ascent and return to Zadnjica via alternative descent?
Many thanks and lots of enjoyment to all!

Hi! I'm also heading on this tour on Monday, but from Vrata. I'm wondering if the road to Vrata is closed or if it's possible to go by car? Especially interested in the "ramp" in the evening hours, since we'll sleep at Aljažev dom. But I can say this path is very hot if not early enough.

Road is open, ramp is there as always, and in same condition as always (closed). From there you can't/may not go further by car anyway. From there to Aljaž is 5 min walk.

Hi! The only possible tour for the next day is from Kriški Podi through Bovški gamsovec to Luknja and down the mulatjera towards Zadnjica. Only in the valley will you have to walk a couple of km to the cable car.

Marko1, today with worse weather forecast I'm sitting at the computer and viewing your beautiful pictures on your profile. I'd only ask you to write under the picture what's on it, because not all of us are such experts of our mountains. But we try. Nice mountaineering regards!

Red color marks hiking trails. Only thing is you need to know how to read maps.

We would praise the staff of Pogačnikov Lodge at Kriški Podi, with manager Katarina at the helm. Over the weekend we were guests at Pogačnikov Lodge with the Preddvor Mountaineering Section. Really SUPER TEAM took care that we all had a great time, which given our age range from just over 20 to well over 70 says it all!!! Thanks again for the WONDERFUL WEEKEND!

Did you perhaps also conquer Križ or Kriška Stena?

We conquered Bovški Gamsovec and Razor. Well not all, some enjoyed walks to the lakes and in the wonderful sunny weather. The views, especially from the summits, were incredible...

After a long time back a bit to the mountains. Decided on Pogačnikov Lodge at Kriški Podi. From Zadnjica Valley I go still in the dark and arrive at the hut before sunrise. Weather excellent, practically no snow left, the lake still frozen in ice. At the hut I stop a bit, take some photos and back to the valley. It was really a great trip.

Last weekend we roamed around Kriški Podi and surrounding peaks. Conquered Stenar, Planja and Razor. Met the inhabitants of these mountains and enjoyed the views. Path from Planja Saddle to Pogačnikov Lodge is completely dry except one snow remnant under the wall, which poses no problems as it's already well trampled between snow and wall.

ruševec, beautiful pics of round-leaved mouse-ear hawkweed. Haven't seen it this year yet. Were they at Pogačnikov Lodge, if it was already open, knowing anything about conditions on the via ferrata from Bovški Gamsovec? You repeated Gamsa though. L.P.

Finally vacation came and with it the days I spent on Kriške Plateaus. Two nights, from 13th to 15th August I slept at Pogačnik Hut. Briefly about the hut: staff, girls and guys, hardworking and friendly, food tasty, tidiness and cleanliness on point, ...etc; if I had to rate it all from 1 to 5, it's a five (5)smilesmilesmilesmilesmile
Hikers I met, and there were quite a few, pleasant and communicative; on Friday evening some even sang in the hut accompanied by guitar.
I was on 4 peaks, namely Bovški Gamsovec, Križ, Gubno summit and Stenar. Except for Gubno, where I climbed pathless, the paths I walked are nicely maintained and markings refreshed, maybe missing a peg here and there and wire ropes not quite OK everywhere, but nothing tragic. I'd add this: path to Gubno for those of us who don't know the area well is hard to follow and full of cracks and pits, so carefully and only in good weathercool
Weather sunny, with little rain Saturday morning that soon stopped (around 9am), so I descended dry.
In short one very nice mountain experience smile, pictures will tell more, attaching a few more than usual.
