Checking how the family cabin on Pokljuka survived the recent snowfall can actually be a unique experience these days.
Snow is around 60 or 70 centimeters, maybe more. The road to Rudno polje is cleared to the ground, similarly the road from Mrzli studenec towards Bohinj. The turn-off to Medvedova konta is also plowed, don't know how far though. Likewise the road past Šport hotel towards Koprivnik. For one car ok, but several passing places. Forest road from Goreljek to Konjska dolina is unplowed.
A bit off the plowed roads Pokljuka these days is a kingdom of silence. No chainsaws, no car rumbling, loud talking, even animals hid among spruces thickly laden with snow and wind went resting somewhere too. Deaf, total silence, like I last experienced in the remotest part of Libyan Sahara...
Access anywhere on the plateau realistically only possible with skis, much harder with snowshoes.
Visitors to these parts currently of course property owners, with great care accessing (only via Koprivnik) also Bohinj folks. For Gorjanci and Blejci whose municipal borders meet Bohinj municipality at Mrzli studenec, Pokljuka for recreation is more or less theoretically inaccessible.

But Mrzli studenec and all towards Lipanci and Debeli peči is in Gorje municipality  .

Dejan, thanks, really nice and rarely seen. For me those numerous isolated and magically snow-covered huts stubbornly waiting for a visit have special charm.
Nina, from Zatrnik on towards Mrzli studenec the road mostly goes through Bled municipality territory. Don't know other roads from Gorje to Mrzli studenec. Situation similar to Šmarna gora, where you theoretically can't go via Turnc even from Ljubljana. Sad, probably unresolved too, but that's how it is. 400 eur ain't no joke to me.
Anyway, for those who can, now's definitely time to visit Pokljuka.

Yes, that's just the absurdity of current times. Who'd have thought last year this time that conditions would include where municipal borders are. And my remark really wasn't condemning anyone. Hope in a few months we'll all enjoy our hills and hillocks wherever we want.

J and Nina hello what bothers me with all these "territorial violations" is just one thing and not that they break but tease the one who obeys ban. Then masters get bill, checked, just who reported them no one themselves as some in power can read posts and fb.

Today we went from Bohinj side to Jelje and Konjska dolina. Start in Zgornjem Podjelju. Trail made with snowshoes so sinks a bit without them in places, especially crossing Planina Jelje. Trail on forest road from Goreljek to Zajamniki already firm. Met some walkers. Otherwise sun and great winter.

Blejčani invite us to the area around Bled and Pokljuka with free buses. What if they also wrote where we can park and how much such parking costs us. Local bigwigs of Bled, thanks for such an invitation, I choose friendlier destinations.
