Pokljuka Gorge - opening

As mentioned, today the reopening of Pokljuka Gorge took place, which was until recently largely inaccessible due to destroyed galleries.
From today onwards it's different; the galleries and passage through the narrowest constriction are fully restored, thereby reopening to hikers the option of access to the so-called Old Pokljuka and Kranjska Planina in the classic way.
The opening featured representatives of Tnp, Gorje municipality, and the program was enlivened by choirs.
A good number of visitors attended the event.
With friends we did a circular tour on this occasion - from the gorge to the gravel road on Stara Pokljuka, from there right to the first right branch, then across 2-3 really picturesque planinas back to the starting point (parking lot) at the entrance to the restored gorge.
Altogether good 2 hours of pleasant walking.
From here you can also head out on a hiking tour towards Klek and Debela Peč.

Today early in the morning I visited and walked through Pokljuka Gorge. At the entrance nothing indicated that it was closed, so I intended to check it out. Already the start of the path didn't promise anything good. Fallen trees were already at the beginning on the path. They somehow cleared the path for now, so one can get in somehow. But I don't recommend going into it with kids and elderly at all. If in shorts nettles will sting you too. First time here and the gorge with Luknja thrilled me. The galleries and passage above them are something special. Otherwise the desired Burser's rockcress supposed to grow here I didn't find, nor the cinquefoil mentioned. Don't know when they'll manage to clean the gorge.

Over this, there were already acrobatics.

The path is otherwise well marked. Here to the right it goes to Luknja-impressive. In summer I will surely see it again.

Pictures in Luknja don't turn out because it's too dark.

Vegetation of the gorge. I didn't find two of the most desired - Burser's rockcress and pentapetal - but there is plenty of starflower and round-leaved rockcress. I also found yellow deadnettle.

Yesterday family through gorge via galleries and back to junction for Pokljuka hole. Through hole and on to Pl. Pokljuka and return by road to start/ parking.

Wilderness of Pokljuka gorge and a bit around. After long long time I visit galleries. First I go up steep road, with view to Radovna valley. Interesting huts on display. Up to Figovčeva farmstead, past nice pasture. Then descend same road and check hole and galleries. Overgrown scrub, holes, natural bridge, on gallery narrow passages, nature is wonderful. All renovated and safe. Just after rain boards wet, steps full of mud and slippery. Rope helps where needed. From parking in Jela to hole and galleries not far. Nice trip but caution not superfluous, sometimes stones fly down rocks. nasmeh

This time we took two groups of retirees from the Ponedeljkovci section to the Pokljuška gorge. One group is called Brzeči, the other Polžki. Today the Polžki walked more of the Pokljuška gorge than the Brzeči. But we Brzeči went over the Pokljuka pasture and three rovti - Janezov rovt, Šuštarjev rovt and Repečnikov rovt. We ended at the Kranjska dolina pasture. We Brzeči walked quite a bit. The paths are marked. But today they were wet, slippery.

On the left are galeije which we did not visit. Polžki did traverse them. To the right there are gere across the holes.

Perhaps I'd add besides sandwiches and drinks, that they are the ones who whine that parking should be free. They indeed know how to experience nature differently from the others.

Yesterday we Medvoščani - retirees section at DU Medvode visited Pokljuka Gorge and extended the tour also to Kranjska Planina. We went to the Galleries and onwards to the planina. The path through the Galleries took us one hour. To the planina it dragged on long three hours. Luckily most of it runs through forest paths in the shade. You even find some boletus and chanterelles. If we're around these ends we always have a snack at Kreka.

Modern WC with ventilator - there was even paper.

End of the galleries - now down the steps along the steel cable into the darkness.

Along the damp valley at the end of the gorge.

Not back to Gorje but to the alpine pasture - Kranjska dolina.

Mainly the path goes through the forest and crosses some pastures.

Before the alpine pasture - end of our three-hour hike from the gorge - it was quite long.

Yesterday we headed to the Pokljuka Gorge, where I hadn't been before. Actually, I had no idea where it was on Pokljuka, even though gorges are generally close to my heart. It really captivated both of us, as we didn't just do the usual circular path, but extended the loop and included the entire gorge plus Zatrnik. But we said it will wait for our visit, since one part of the circular path remained unwalked, and also two side branches on the path are not entirely clear to us.

Otherwise, peace, silence along the entire path, not even the murmur of water on the path. In some parts of the path, the feeling that you're walking through the wilderness of some primeval forest, with plenty of green color, green moss, trees covered in moss. Fallen trees on the path just right, almost nowhere impassable, only once did we have to climb over a lying log. In between, steep walls, vertical cliffs that you sometimes cross, sometimes walk under them, other times view them from the top. On the path we met only one hiker, a tourist.
At the parking lot, also a chat with a local who revealed ideas for other hikes in this area to us. No wonder the wishlist is getting longer nasmeh
