Polhovec is a forested hill, located somewhere between St. Ožbolt on one side and Pasja ravan on the other. The first impression is that it's completely unknown and unvisited. But the truth is different. There is a logbook up there, from which you can see that some visitors are very frequent. There are more paths up there, from Brodov, Zminca, Bodovelj, and from Valterski vrh. The official paths are not marked, but you can find some marked in their own way . Even motorcyclists drive up. Well, yesterday Polhovec wasn't in our plan. But since we did the first part of the planned route quite quickly, and it suddenly appeared in our view, we decided for the ascent too. We've almost circled it from all sides recently, seen paths climbing to it, but from this side the path wasn't known to us yet. But just as we were figuring out where to start exactly, we ran into Damir, who knows these paths, and we continued the path together. In one moment there were 10 of us at the top, but at a proper distance of course . We descended to Valterski vrh, admired views among blooming trees from there and descended back to Log via beautiful ridge path. Yes and that, we started along Sovpat gorge, gazed at its waters and waterfalls and climbed past Golar homestead to the connecting path Valterski vrh - Pasja ravan. Nice peak, more spacious than I expected. Ascent from Log there at most 2 hours, with extension like we did, of course a bit more. Of course, if you're not with a crosser . I recommend it!

Super! I'm thinking about visiting Polhovec, it really looks quite secluded from Ožbolt

This time to Polhovec from Brode village, which has been in the plan for some time. We parked at the local gas station, which seemed very easy to us, since you just cross the road and you're on the right path. Today the weather wasn't the best, but it didn't disturb the atmosphere on the path at all. The path winds nicely mostly through spruce forest and today the wind was pleasantly playing in the spruce tops, just right so that its rustling evoked a sense of wilderness, and that's one of the best things. The summit isn't badly visited at all, quite a few hikers are regularly on these paths. We met some too, but all on their descent. But we planned a circular tour, so we descended the other side to Valterski vrh, past the church there, then along the ridge path to Log, there to the right, a bit near Poljanska Sora, a bit above it. So we closed the loop exactly where we started it. At the church of St. Tomaž. We haven't said the last word to Polhovec yet, see you again !!
