Poljanca and Virje Waterfall

With a colleague we drove in the morning to the Bovec golf course, where we parked. From there past Lake Plužna, after about an hour's walk we reached Poljanca, where there's a monument to the fallen partisans during NOB. From Poljanca we continued to the crossroads for Kopo, where we planned to continue through Malenski gully towards the village of Plužna. Very soon we realized the path was hard to pass due to logging and timber hauling, so to avoid possible "troubles", we rather returned to Lake Plužna along the ascent path. On the return we detoured to the wonderful Virje waterfall, which always enchants a person.

At the camp in Bavšica one day was also dedicated to Virje waterfall and Boka waterfall. Finally, first few days in Bovec, opportunity to see the surroundings. Especially in changeable weather when it's harder to do more demanding hikes. Some managed anyway. On Wednesday lightning struck and on Thursday the gondola unfortunately didn't run....hope they repair it quickly. Besides Plužna lake, both waterfalls, we saw Srnica adventure park, karst spring Gljun with average temperature 5.5 degrees. Second day we returned past Plužna village and chapel of the good shepherd. We ran out of time for hike to Bavanjski skednjovec, colleagues surely succeed...

Today we first swam in Soča, then explored Fratarica until heavy rain chased us away. Rain above Loška stena and the surrounding area, sun in Bovec nasmeh

This time it was pretty hot on vacation in Bovec, so we stuck close to the water. Of course we visited Virje waterfall too, and that twice. The difference in water flow is pretty obvious nasmeh

Given the rains, Virje waterfall is really full these days, never seen it so powerful. Besides Virje we also checked out the Glijun spring and HE Plužna lake.

This is how the waterfall was seen from the path.

Then in all its wetness and beauty, the Virje waterfall.

At HE lake Plužna with a view of Svinjak and Javoršček.

Reflection of the houses in the lake with a view towards Kanin and Rombon.

In the adrenaline park Srnica I have never seen water before, something new.

Today we set out on foot from Kaninska vas past the Bovec golf course and HE lake Plužna to Poljanca. We continued to the NOB monument and the junction below Kopo. Since it was my first time in these parts, I'm scouting the terrain for a loop tour continuing towards Gozdec and B station.
On the descent we stumble into a cave above the path along the way and admire the views opening to the Bovec basin. Blue and Nessy also get their share when they refresh in the cold Glijun stream bed, as the heat was already quite intense. Followed by return from Plužna to Kaninska vas. Not much elevation gain, but we walked 18 km, which isn't bad for a Monday nasmeh
