This afternoon I got some exercise on PPP, from Doliča to Tromejnik then to Martinje and in a loop to the car in Doliča. The path is muddy in places (where not frozen). A nice section runs along the road.

Thanks for the idea. Didn't know PPP until now. It's long - over 300 km. Best

On 09.04.2017 I walked the first part (19km) of PPP from Murska Sobota to Selo. This first part of the total over 200 km PPP starts at hotel Diana Murska Sobota (stamp at reception) and ends in village Selo (stamp of extended transversal) in Goričko. Hi! I can't help it, I feel I have to chime in... In the time of Marija Vild Lah and some others, those enthusiastic Pomurje hikers back then, the path was called just "Pomurska pot", without "planinska". Even the log from over 30 years ago is named "Pomurska pot", no "planinska". Why does this bother me?! As a Pomurje (Prekmurje) native, now old and nostalgic, it doesn't fit, why should it be called "planinska"?! Does perhaps some part of the mentioned path go over a mountain pasture? How many pastures are in Pomurje? Maybe "planinska" because most who walk and maintain it are from the mountaineering association? Possibly some alpinists, divers among them... Then it would be logical to call it Pomurska alpinistična pot or Pomurska potapljaška pot... Branko, no hard feelings, just my opinion! Otherwise nice greetings to Pomurje! Fedor

Hello Sorok-Fedor. Generally, I don't like debating with commentators who hide behind pseudonyms. Regarding the Pomurska hiking trail PPP, I'd say this trail is really maintained ONLY by PD members; it really doesn't go over any mountain, but Selo in Prekmurje is point 21 of the EXTENDED SLOVENE HIKING TRAIL in the SLOVENE HIKING TRAIL logbook (ALPINE ASSOCIATION OF SLOVENIA) published in Ljubljana in 2016. This is my fourth booklet; I've already walked the entire transversal three times besides everything else, and such trifles didn't bother me. In the same logbook are Ankaran, Debeli rtič, Zavrh, Jeruzalem; none of the listed points reaches even 400 m, but they are in the HIKING transversal. Plus, Pomurje is full of commercial trails; it's good that the WORK of former hiking enthusiasts is preserved and stands out from the commercial bunch. I think the word "hiking" is really not so burdensome. Regards

Hi Branko! First, Sorok is a pseudonym - if you open my profile, you'd see that I'm Fedor Lanščak and that's my real name . As you explain, I fully agree with the naming. I haven't walked the entire Pomurska trail yet; I'm missing the Prlekija part. But in the years 1976-1981, then as a PD Mura MS member, in a group with Mr. Jože Vild, Dušan Roškar, Jože Pojbič, Ben Bernjak and some others, I refreshed the markings several times exactly on this part of the trail, namely from MS to Pindža in Gornji Petrovci. The part of the trail from Bukovniško lake, G. Petrovci, Bodonci, G. Radgona, Apače I've walked at least 10 times. Hence my sensitivity to the name. Anyway, I'll always walk the Pomurska trail . Regards

On 16.04.2017 I walked the second part (18.1 km) PPP from Selo to Gornji Petrovci. The trail starts near the ROTUNDA in the village Selo on Goričko and ends in Gornji Petrovci, at the once very famous Goričko tourist spot Pindža. Exact trail description is under the photos on the club website - photo album http://www.pdmaticams-drustvo.si/

After a search action among papers that I have stored in 100 places , I finally found the Logbook with the POMURSKA TRAIL from 1976. Supplementing the above correspondence between Branko and me . Interesting are the dates, and also the serial number of the logbook. Nice hiking regards! Fedor

Greetings to both. My name is Bogdan ROjS from Lenart. Unlike you (otherwise I am a sworn hiker and alpinist), in these corona times I went on PPP by bike and must say it's made for cycling, while for hiking (read more walking) on often boring flat roads and field paths it is not much of a highlight. But it is wonderful to bike on it, especially on the hills of Slovenske gorice, Jeruzalem, Lendava hills, Goričko and elsewhere, also flat parts, understand. I plan to publish on Hribi.net some bike variant of PPP or better Via Pomurje in pictures and text (updating descriptions), because in nature many sections of PPP run differently than drawn on geopedija electronic map and Pomurje maps available to me. Anyway, important that we enjoy these paths.

@Behemot, bravo, well written! With your opinion on the trail I fully and completely agree ; your writing confirms exactly what I between the lines already said in previous "posts", namely the reason my logic (repeat - local Prekmurje from MS) so resists that newer-composed adjective "hiking" to the name "Pomurska trail". Whoever added it, believing good intent to embellish trail name, should have thought well beforehand and same those who accepted it. For me such "embellishment" more folly than "trail suitable" extra label. People who laid this trail (...whom by the way I knew and appreciated well), led by Mrs. Marija Lah Vildova, were intelligent devilishly experienced hikers, mountaineers, some alpinists too. Undoubtedly from experience with well-thought solid reason named it simply "Pomurska trail" without those "mountains" which (mentioned before) aren't here at all. Your findings, Bogdan, correct, coincide with what decided among "authors" from trail laying start, namely fully equal if do trail on foot or bike. One more time: for me forever original "Pomurska trail" surely without silly "new-composed" addition 'hiking' @primoza, glad you note "My country" extends beyond Pohorje - all to Hungary (not Siberia ) NE, Austria N, Croatia SE In this area two tripoints "My country", namely Slo-Hun-Aus at Trdkova Goričko and water tripoint Slo-Hun-Cro in Murski forest (Murski šumi) at Pince village. Most "My country" residents know only Peč tripoint Slo-Aus-Ita at Kranjska gora. Sufficient blow! "...not devil, just known neighbor's dick, urban rooster pleh-kovic, here our border guard now!"

I'm enthusiastic hiker and cyclist too. Would do Pomurska trail by bike but wonder if there are sections not bikeable? To me really more like path for sports life enthusiasts and adjective hiking not fitting much since no mountains around here? Prefer biking on asphalt over walking but still do something for myself. Nice greetings to all supporters of healthy lifestyle in this corner of the world. Tone
